Fai picked up her phone as it was ringing answering it automatically, "Hello?"
"Hey, were you sleeping?" The person asked Fai.
Fai immediately sat up, "No, who in the world is asleep at three in the morning nowadays?"
"So you were sleeping?" Mark asked.
"Of course I was sleeping," Fai answered, "What's up?"
"Umm nothing."
Fai heard the wind blowing through the phone, "Are you outside?"
"Yeah."
"Are you stupid? Where are you?"
"Outside your apartment building."
"Oh my god, you idiot! I'll let you in." Fai got out of her bed walking into her living room clicking a button, "Did the gate open?"
"Mmm," Mark answered, "Give me a minute."
Fai sat on her couch waiting for Mark to come into her apartment, Mark put in Fai's pin and walked in.
"Hey." Fai smiled once she saw Mark.
"Hey," Mark sat on a seat across of Fai to look at her.
"So what's up?"
"Nothing's up, I just felt like seeing you."
"You've never just wanted to see me." Fai trailed.
"Well now I do," Mark shrugged, "My girlfriend's gorgeous and I want to look at her more, because at some point I won't have this privilege."
"You're a great liar."
"I should probably go back home huh?" Mark asked.
"No, why would you? You just came. Did you really come to take a look at me?"
"Yeah, I mean, I've been recharged so I'm all good now." Mark stood back up.
"Don't be stupid sit back down."
Mark say back down, "I'm being serious."
Fai crawled on her knees over to Mark wrapping her arms around his shoulder, "We promised no secrets between us. So...if you want to let it all out, you can."
Mark wrapped his arms Fai's waist, snuggling into Fai's shoulder, releasing all his thoughts softly and quietly. A couple of minutes later, Mark broke the hug and Fai wiped the tear stain on his cheeks.
"Won't you ask me what's wrong?" Mark asked Fai.
"You'll tell me if you want to," Fai shrugged, "Do you want me to get you anything?"
Mark shook his head, which caused Fai to go sit back on her original seat across of Mark.
"I had a dream," Mark spoke up after a minute long silence which was drowned by their thoughts.
"Was it a bad dream?"
"I keep on having the same damn dream, it's gotten to the point where I don't want to sleep anymore because I'm scared to go through it again."
"What happens in the dream?"
"I loose everything," Mark started, "And I'm not saying that I lost my money, or my job, or anything along those lines. I lost my ability to speak, move, which caused people to just leave me in the dirt. You allowed me to stay with you though, but eventually you got sick of taking care of me and you left too."
"You know something like this would never happen right?"
"I know, but it's not nice to experience."
"Do you feel okay now?"
"I'm with you, so everything is perfect just the way it is now."
"Good."
Mark smiled, "You're so shit at comforting a person."
"I'm trying!"
"I know, that's why you're so cute."
"Stop calling me cute, call me sexy."
"You are, sometimes."
"You love me right?"
"More than you could ever imagine."
"That's what I wanted to hear."
"And you?"
"Yeah I feel the same."
Mark laughed attacking Fai with a squeeze and ruffling her hair, "Tell me that you seriously love me."
"I sort of did."
"No you didn't."
"Let me go."
"Just say the three words."
"Alright okay. I love you."
"You really mean it?"
"Of course I do, I'm not a liar."
"Good," Mark let go of Fai staring into her eyes, a couple of seconds later he said, "You're beautiful."
"Thank you," Fai responded.
Fai was about to say something else however Mark cut her off, "Don't say anything else." Mark leaned in kissing Fai.
A couple of minutes later, after their whole session ended, Fai spoke up, "Whenever I had bad dreams, my mum wouldn't let me go back to sleep. She would spend the entire night with me, and today I'm going to be hanging out with you."
"All night long?"
"All night long," Fai nodded taking Mark's hand.
"What are we going to do?"
"Whatever you want, we can start with Netflix."
"And chill?"
"Hilarious."
"Thank you, I have my times."
"Actually, do you want to play a card game?"
"You always fight me whenever we play."
"I won't this time."
"Promise?"
"I swear."
