"What the hell is going on between you and Remus?"

Sirius, who was laughing at something James had said, turned to look at Lyra who had slammed her hands on the dining table, making the cutlery rattle.

It had been precisely two weeks after her meet up with James, and ever since they got back from Hogsmeade, it had been weird. But not between them, but between Sirius and Remus.

Lyra wasn't stupid, she had noticed how Remus had fallen sick again. He looked pale, tired than usual and was avoiding everyone but the boys. And then one day he completely missed class, which was weird for him being a prefect and all.

She questioned the three boys about it but they just waved her off, explaining he just had a strong case of the flue. She went to the hospital wing to visit Remus but did not stay long for he was completely passed out and Madam Pomfrey ended up kicking her out.

And then two days later he was back, but something was different. She only ever saw him in class, and if he ever came down to the great hall, he would sit with Lily and Marlene, far away from his usual gang.

Lyra had caught Sirius trying to talk to Remus only for the scarred boy to storm off before Sirius could finish a single 'hello'.

James and Peter would alternate between hanging out with Sirius and Remus, but Lyra could tell both boys were tired and just wanted things to go back to normal.

Sirius was the worst though. He was getting skinnier and looked miserable. He was wasting away and Lyra had enough. So, that morning she marched up to the boy and demanded an explanation for all of this.

"Morning to you too." Sirius sarcastically muttered.

Lyra rolled her eyes. "Don't bullshit me, Sirius. Do you think I'm stupid?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Sirius shrugged cooly.

Lyra let out a groan, taking the seat in front of the boys. "Please, I've seen Remus avoid you. What's going on?"

"Lyra, don't you think that if Padfoot wanted to tell you, he would've by now?"

Lyra widened her eyes before exclaiming an 'AHA! and pointing at James. "So there is something going on!"

Sirius hit James on the arm angrily, making him wince. "Nice one, mate." James pouted and apologised, rubbing the sore spot.
