"I know something you don't know." James sang as he skipped over to Lyra the next morning, hands behind his back.

Lyra, whose arms were filled with various books and parchment, widened her eyes. "Tell me this instant." She demanded.

A playful smirk formed on James' lips. "Okay." Lyra let out an excited shriek, but pouted when James added: "But on one condition."

"I am not convincing Lily to go out with you if that's what your planning to ask me." She sternly said. Not only did she know Lily would say no, but Lyra seemed to get jealous at the mere thought of James even looking at the red-head.

James chuckled, shaking his head. "I wasn't going to. I wanted to ask you to help me prank Snivellus."

Lyra stopped in her tracks, blandly staring at James. "Need I remind you last time someone tried to prank Snape he nearly died?"

"Need I remind you that I saved him?" He arrogantly spoke, puffing his chest.

"Our hero." She sarcastically answered, rolling her eyes playfully. "But seriously. Look, I am no fan of that git my self, but haven't you bullied him enough?"

"It's not bullying, we simply express our hatred towards him." He shrugged.

"So, bullying?"

"Lyyyra," He groaned. "Please just say yes. I haven't pranked anyone in ages and-"

"-Shouldn't you be asking the boys to help you?" She spoke, raising her eyebrows.

James sighed before pursing his lips. "Well, I did, but Remus and Sirius are busy getting at it," He rolled his eyes. "And Peter has been taking tutoring lessons from Evans so he can't either."

Lyra felt bad for the boy. He must've have felt alone since everyone was doing their own thing, especially now that Remus and Sirius were a thing.

"Look, I helped you prank Lucius because I wanted to get back at him. I don't want to do it again, especially if it's someone who has never done anything to me."

"But-"

"-I understand you might feel bored, but we can do other stuff together. I plan on buying fizzing whizbees this weekend. Wanna join?"

James sighed, desperate to just do something. "Okay, fine. Hogsmeade it is, then."

Lyra smiled, patting James' cheek. "Good boy. Now, what is it that you wanted to tell me?"

"YOU GOT ASKED TO JOIN THE SLUG CLUB?!"

Sirius winced at Lyra's loud tone as she stormed into the Gryffindor common room, where he and Remus had been cuddling by the fire. James followed behind the excited girl.

"Can you repeat that again, I didn't hear you." He sarcastically said, leaning up from Remus's chest. He then looked over at James. "I'm guessing you told her?"

"Yeah, didn't think she'd react like this, though"

"Do you know how awesome this is?! Now we can make fun of the other students. Lily never likes when I laugh at whatever Lucius says." She rolled her eyes but soon smiled as she ran over to embrace the boy in a tight hug.

Sirius chuckled, returning the hug before clearing his throat. "I'm - uh - I'm not joining, Ly."

Lyra slowly pulled away, looking up at him confused. "You - but - why?"

"Lyra, we both know he only invited us because of our blood status-"

"Lily is muggle-born though."

"True, but we know deep down, Slughorn just wants to show off and say he has nearly all pure-blood family's dining with him. Think about it, my cousins are in the club, so's Lucius, Lestrange used to be in it before he graduated, my brother, you." He sighed. "I don't want to give him the satisfaction."

She knew that in a way, he was right. Slughorn liked to show off, to be in contact with the purest and richest of families, but she also knew he meant well, and that the 'slug club' would be much funner with Sirius, which is why she pouted at his words. "Can't you just think about it, for me?"

"I think you should go," Remus suddenly spoke up. "Yes, he did invite you only because you're a Black, but think about it, you're failing class and this way you can get on his good side."

James and Lyra nodded in agreement. "He's right, Padfoot."

Sirius bit his lip, thinking hard. "I'll think about it."

"So then I thought, why not just ask her to marry me?" Lucius smiled, squeezing Narcissa's hand.

Lyra's grip tightened around her fork as she listens to Lucius talk about his proposal. If she could just hex them right there and then, she would've.

"Splendid! Just sple-"

Everyone turned to look at the door, which had been slammed open, interrupting Slughorn. Sirius stood there, dressed in his usual black jeans, white shirt and leather jacket. The room instantly filled with the smell of smoke and Lyra could see out of the corner of her eye how Jamie Abbott gagged.

"Sorry I'm late, Professor." He panted, taking a seat next to Lyra and one of the Ravenclaw prefects.

"Don't worry boy, glad to see you decided to come." Slughorn smiled widely.

Lyra grinned at Sirius, squeezing his hand under the table. Then, food magically appeared on his plate and he began to dig in.

"Now that we are all here, I would like to ask you all to give me your attention," Slughorn spoke, getting up from his chair as he held a glass of wine. As everyone diverted their attention from their plate to him, he said: "I know Christmas is still weeks away, but I want you all to know I will be hosting a Christmas party before you all depart to your homes. You are allowed to invite one guest."

After his small speech, he sat back down and dinner continued with questions from Slughorn to the students and their personal lives.
