Newt likes Thomas?

Newt looked at Thomas in disbelief.  He knew he should've felt angry or frustrated at Thomas but at that moment all he could think about how warm Thomas's hand had felt on his cheek when he slapped him. For the first time, Newt looked Thomas straight in the eye and felt a weird sensation wash over him. All he wanted to do was feel Thomas's hand again, reassuring him that everything was going to be fine as long as he was there by his side. Newt knew he should probably take the gun from Thomas's hand and shoot himself, but he didn't want to. All of a sudden without thinking, Newt took the gun from Thomas's hand.

Thomas wondered why Newt wasn't doing anything. It had been a while since he had slapped Newt but Newt just sat there and stared with a glassy look in his eyes like he was dazed or in some sort of magical dream. For the 50th time, Thomas wondered what what was going through Newt's head that made him have to think for so long. All of a sudden, Thomas felt the gun that was still aimed at Newt fly out of his hands. To his surprise, it didn't land in Newt's face, but instead in the grass. He looked at the gun more closely. It had been fake the whole time, just a toy that could make the sounds of a real gun. Thomas stared at it with wide eyes as the plastic shone brilliantly in the moonlight. Hah! He thought to himself.  Newt really is blind isn't he? He thought a plastic gun was real! hahaha that idiot!  Suddenly Thomas felt a warm hand go to his face  and he was staring Newt right in the eyes.
