Orlando, Florida
(Becky POV)Well... After the just flat out bad night we had at the Barclays Center, we booked a flight back to Florida for a little bit of a break from all this.
We arrived back in the sunshine state at around 3 :00 A.M. and drove in our separate cars back to his place. To say we were dead tired is a complete understatement. So I flopped down next to him on his bed and we drifted off in sleep together.
The next morning, much to my surprise, he was the first to wake up. I figured that out by waking up to nothing next to me in his room.
I could hear music and singing coming from the kitchen so I quietly got out of bed and peaked my head out around the corner of the door and to my surprise, there he was making breakfast and singing along with one of his favorite songs "Clocks" by Coldplay. I went back to the bedside table where he let me charge my phone since I slept with him. Now, with the Instagram story camera open, I pressed record, and relaxed. Can I just point out he's a damn good singer, I'm surprised he hasn't released more songs with his voice in them. Anyways, after waiting until he was finished, I walked out acting like I just woke up.
"Oh hey! Morning babe! Sleep well?"
He said with a smile on my face to which I couldn't help but smile back. He's just too adorable. A true ray of sunshine.
"Yeah, actually I did, but mainly because I got to sleep with you in my arms."
"You wouldn't like it any other way, huh?"
"Nope!"
I replied before leaning in for a kiss which he accepted before we ate breakfast together.
"Hey... uh B?"
"What's up?"
"Nothing, but I may or may not have heard you singing when I woke up..."
"Oh... my bad I... forgot you were st-"
I put a finger over his mouth to cut him off.
"Don't worry about it, it was actually beautiful."
"Was it?"
"Yeah, you sure you only make instrumentals?"
"I do, but honestly I've been experimenting with my voice in songs so never say never."
I giggled as we kissed and got ready for whatever today entailed. I later hatched up the idea of just going to the beach like we used to do way back when before shit hit the fan.
"Huh, haven't done that in a while... since... you know..."
I instinctively put an arm on his shoulder.
"Yeah, I know... trust me if I could erase the past and make sure it never happened I would, but I guess the only thing we can do is move on, right? Besides, it'll be fun!"
I explained as he looked up and smile at me before we got ready to have our beach day.
Honestly it's been awhile since we were just able to... you know... hang out together without anything bad happening. I'm not saying we're accident prone, I'm talking about all the attacks and plots that sidelined us all those separate times. Ah well, might as well enjoy the time we got, huh?
Anyways we eventually packed up all of the essentials and headed out in his Ford Raptor to Cocoa Beach, where the fun would ensue.
To say the place was packed was an understatement, it felt like we had to go to the other side of the beach just to get a parking spot. Regardless, we made it and found our spot in the beach.
Cool thing is, we even dusted off the old surfboards and gave those a run out there on the waves. Safe to say we never lost a step.
After playing around a little bit more in the beautiful Florida water, I decided to just relax on the sand while he continued in the water... until something unexpected happened.
"Fancy seeing you guys here!"
I opened my eyes from sun tanning, and removed my sunglasses to see that Dori Prange, a good friend of ours, had found us.
"Well hey there! This is a pleasant surprise, how are ya?!"
"Pretty good really, I just came here to check on you guys."
"Oh ok... wait... how'd you know..."
"Brandon told me... i-is that a bad thing?"
I laughed a bit.
"No. It's not a problem at all, he just didn't tell me."
We laughed it off for a bit before Brandon joined us fresh off of a killer surf session.
"Hey guys! Dori, I see you made it here no problem."
"Yep, a little traffic, but overall still a good drive. Thanks for the invite by the way."
She said as they fist bumped.
"Anyways, you guys doing alright, I got worried when I got word that you guys took time off."
"Yeah... sorry about that. It's just..."
I took a deep breath. And Brandon gave us some space to talk it out while he went back out to wade in the water.
"After the rumble, I just... felt bad for... well being the reason he got injured at the rumble earlier this year and... everything... I thought was looking up until Brooklyn recently, then I just thought 'yeah, it's time for a break.' After getting the ok from Hunter, we headed home, and have been here ever since."
"Damn... I'm sorry things haven't gone too well... I wish there was something I could do."
"Ah... it's okay... I mean look at him. He's happy, and when he's happy, I'm happy."
I said as Dori hugged me.
After cleaning up, we invited her over to the house to just hang out and catch up. We even broke out Mario Kart on Brandon's switch... I totally won.
Anyways, I had fun. It felt great to just forget about the past for a little while and just relax for the day. It's always a blast having Dori around.
