"Tantrum" is the lead single for Ashnikko's upcoming EP. Ashnikko officially announced the song on February 29, 2020.
The song's haunting melody combined with a fast-paced electro beat helps emphasize Ashnikko's message of being spoiled and quick-tempered. Continuing the themes of her previous EPs Unlikable and Hi, It's Me, Ashnikko encourages sexual liberation and female empowerment through the lyrics.
Prior to the song's release, Ashnikko has performed "Tantrum" during several live performances in late 2019, followed by the presentation of a music video snippet in early February of 2020, before finally announcing the track and its cover art on February 29, 2020.

For one, she is continuing her narrative of being someone who is spoiled and easy to upset once things don't go her way. She's a literal brat.
