Richie's POV
I woke up in the hospital weak, my arms were sore. The memories of what happened the night before flooded back making me feel awful.
"Hey Richie, how are you, hun?" Beverly spoke gingerly. "I'm not doing very good," I responded, my voice weak and soft. Bev gave me a sympathetic worried look.
"Richie, why?" Bill questioned worriedly. "Because Eddie is gone. I never got to tell him," I sobbed out as I broke out into tears. "Tell him what, Richie?" Ben asked cocking an eyebrow. "That I'm in love with him." I let out a muffled sob.
It went dead silent (too soon?). "Richie, you're gay?" Bill asked genuinely shocked. "Yeah, but it doesn't matter because I'll never fall in love again. He was my only true love," I spoke weakly. "I know it's hard, but it'll be better," Bev spoke sweetly.
"Easy for you to say, you're happy and you have Ben. I have nobody," I said sitting up in the hospital bed. "You have us, Rich" Ben spoke comfortingly. "It's not the same," I replied pulling my blanket up onto my body more."
