I believe I was always meant to find you. That, I have no doubts with. I was destined to her your voice and the truth only you could share. I like to believe that it was impossible for me go through this life without feeling you.

When Jesa saw how beautiful the daughter was his heart was captured. All the emptiness, loneliness and the self condemning feelings he had, of why he also did not die with his parents was chased away. He had finally found his purpose. All he needed was just to see her face everyday for his heart to be settled. He would follow her as discretely as possible when she went to the river to get water or when she would pick firewood in the forest and sweep the yard. The chief's daughter had spotted this shadow and loved all the attention he gave her. She wanted patiently, going through her days and daily tasks waiting for him to pluck up enough courage to approach her. When six months had passed without Jesa meeting her she decided to take bull by the horns and lured him to the forest.
When Jesa finally realized that he had discovered he thought of running away. Not that he wasn't wanting but felt he didn't have the right to want. Jesa understood the social constraints which would work against him if he tried to take this relationship further. However it seemed his feet had developed roots and could not move no matter how hard he tried. Soon after started courting each other meeting under a marula tree and time passed as their feelings deepened.
But when the chief found out about this through the rampant rumors he went into a crazy rage because he understood his daughters temperament the most and knew she wanted to marry that poor guy. The chief then had his men kill Jesa to prevent any sort of relationship with his daughter.
