Vee's P.O.V
"Leo, do you mind helping me pick up?" I asked.
"Of course! I am happy to be of service!" He said quite cheerful in helping me with the dishes while the other two were going to be in the living room. But it made me smile that I wasn't going to do this alone in washing the dishes.
"Thanks. I appreciate it." I told him but with that we both head over to the sink and turned to the blue turtle Djinni with a serious look on my face.
"Leo why are you letting Raph pick on you so much like that?" I asked as I turned on the tap to start the water and added a bit of dish-wasing liquid to help with cleaning the dishes. Leo looked surprised at the question I asked before he smiled.
"He's not picking on me, not really. He's just a bit rough around the edges. War will do that to you, you know. He always has to be tough. It's not the easiest life." Leo told me as I turned the tap off and placed the dishes inside, knowing what he was talking about but what Cat and I seen.
"Well I understand friendly ribbing, but yours doesn't seem like that. I know that both Cat and I haven't known you and Raph for very long, but I think it's safe to say you deserve better. If you know what I mean." I told him as I had the first plate in as I cleaned it with a few utensils. Leo looks up at me surprised to what I had just said as I handed him the dry towel to dry off the dishes. But he smiled at me for my words I guess.
"Oh, uh, thank you. That is very kind of you to say so." He told me as he took the plate and dried it off. I smiled lightly and went back to washing the dishes. It's pretty weird. Leonardo reminded me so much of my younger, self conscious me. Some Halfling girl who had been so busy trying to please people, and never got to know who she was. One thing for sure was that I didn't want to go back to that, and I certainly didn't want to see the healer stuck there...Feeling like you don't belong. Unfortunately I got distracted by my thoughts, I didn't entirely think where I was leaning. I suddenly hissed and yelped as I felt the sharp edge of the knife stab the palm of my hand rather painfully.
"Ahh! Shell!!!" I jerk my hand away from the tip of the knife that had a little bit of my blood on which my hand was already bleeding as well. I felt a small tear in the cornor as I felt the stining pain of what the knife did.
"Are you alright?" Leo ask having to notice what just happened and was staring at my bloody hand which I was now holding. I could only look up and give a pained smile.
"Y-Yeah, Shee! Sorry. Just stab myself pretty well with the knife I used to make breakfast. It was a lucky shot I took. I'll be fine." I told him knowing I might have to clean and bandage it. However Leo had other plans as he frowned.
"That's no good! Here, may I see?" He said. Holding his hands out to me. This surprised me but nevertheless, I placed my hand on his outstretched ones. However the moment our skin touched, it felt like lighting laced through me. My breath was stolen away. For a moment there was nothing in existence but us, and the energy pulsating through us. When the moment finally broke, I gasped, and looked wide eyes at the chocolate eye turtle. Not expecting to feel that at all.
"What was that?" I asked in shock and surprised. Leo who seemed strange by it as well as he looked at me.
"I don't know, to be honest. I'm not sure I ever felt anything like that before. It almost felt like, hmm, magic being birthed into the world again." He said with a light blush on his cheeks which clashed a bit with his green skin. This would have made me blush but not much I could only smile lightly.
"That's mildly intimidating." I told him feeling my cheeks warm up just a bit as well.
"I'm sure it was just an exchange of energy between turtle Djinni and summoner." He said and I couldn't help but giggle at that thought what he said.
"Well, I'll take your word for it. I'm certainly no expert." I said to him making him chuckle.
He continues to hold my hand in his, and after a moment, I felt a new type of energy. It was cool and soothing, and I felt a faint sense of relaxation and peace. When he finally released my hand, it was perfectly fine. No cut or blood to be seen. My eyes widen in total amazement.
"Oh my gosh! That's amazing!" I said as I looked at my hand more even touching it a bit for anything. This must have made Leo smiled when he saw me look.
"I'm glad you think so. I learned to do much more, back in my time." Leo told me honestly as I looked up at him smiling.
"How could I not think that's the coolest thing in the world. Man, if people wouldn't think me and Cat were absolutely bonkers, I would tell the world about this." I said still smiling however Leo frowned lightly when he heard me say that.
"I still find it curious to think that you live in a world that wouldn't believe we were real. What a interesting notion to awaken to. I wonder what my Master would think." Leo said rubbing his chin in thought. I would have nodded but then I got curious to what he had just said.
"Master?" I asked which Leo must have heard because he saw my look. He suddenly smile at me.
"Oh, my first summoner. I was birthed from his tears, actually." He said he suddenly laughed when I gave him an incredulous look. "It's a long story. I'm sure it's written down in a History book somewhere or perhaps, a mythology book? Such strange concept..." He said smiling.
"Don't worry, as halfling mutant woman blogger, I understand a little bit of the feeling." I said smiling back suddenly Leo pulled out a confused look to what I had just said probably.
"How so? I don't follow. What is a blogger?" He asked which makes me smile gladly as I am happily glad to tell him.
"Ah, well you see, in my culture, normal human is in or mutants. The normal you are the better. So when someone like me comes around and where I wear outfits which you will probably see later on. We're not supposed to be well average and pretty, or wear pretty clothes. Most people believe that us mutants and halflings are suppose to be ashamed and not call attention to ourselves. However I'm not someone who wants that for other mutants, so both me and Cat just be ourselves and dressed like we want. We kind of built an following up because of that, without meaning to at first. And now we do it full time. To show people that we like everyone else and want them to know that they are normal and be themselves." Vee told him as she lean against the sink with her arms cross as her tail swayed a bit. Leo was a little taken back but smiled lightly.
"I can't imagine this world has grown so warped that someone like you and your sister is not considered enchanting, well mostly yourself dear Victoria." He said.
I suddenly found myself blushing vibrantly. Sure, I got compliments online, but there was something so genuine about Leo. Something precious, and pure. Not even when I had dated Jakana had made me feel like this. Was this really what I am feeling right now.
"EEK!!! Vee it's past noon! We need to post on our blogs, ASAP!" Cat suddenly yell and I glaze at the clock kitchen. And I could understand why she was freaking out.
"Oh Crab cakes! We lost track of time! I can't believe it! We can do it right now, I'm coming!" I yelled out and Leo stared confused.
"There is that word again. I still do not know what it means?" He asked but I didn't give him time to explain as I quickly dashed out of the kitchen and straight to the living room where I was sure Cat was busy. Leaving the confuse Leonardo scratching his head.
