"I have an idea."
"Please, Delia." Jonathan begged. "Please don't talk about Ash and Misty."
"We are here talking about the next CEO of this company, John. This is part of our future as a business." Georgia glared. "So, let Delia talk."
Delia looked satisfied. She sat straight. "I'm going to ask Ash and Misty to get married."
"Oh no."
"You're going to invite them in, ask them to get married and - and what? I don't get this!" John complained.
"It's just me trying to make sure they're serious about each other."
"Aren't we over that?" Bill looked between his partners.
"What was I saying last time?" Georgia looked at Bill. "Were you even listening, Bill? That Misty is just playing with Ash's feelings!"
"Misty looked completely lost when Eleanor mentioned marriage at the dinner last week." Delia said. "She wasn't speaking for the rest of the meal. She doesn't want it - she's hiding something."
"Jesus - she's twenty-five! The word just scares her!" Johnathan tried.
There was a knock on the door that made everyone sit straight. No one was allowed to bother them.
"Yes?"
A young woman got inside. She was Delia's assistant. "Mrs. Ketchum? I'm so sorry to interrupt but... we have a bit of a situation."
"Hum?"
"Outside the building..." The girl licked her lips. "If you look from the balcony..."
The work partners looked at each other. They all got up, heading to the balcony and looking down to see a huge crowd at the large door. The security agents were trying to make them stop from moving.
"What's going on?" Delia gasped. "Who are these people?"
"Is this a strike?"
"It's not a strike..." Delia's assistant spoke from her spot. "They're journalists."
"What do they want?"
The woman bit her lip.
"They want to talk to Mr. Ketchum."
"Don't panic, Misty. I'm okay." Ash was peeking through the large glassy door of his balcony. "I'm okay. Don't worry." he spoke to the phone.
It's my fault! I'm so sorry!
"I said it's fine!" Ash let a chuckle. "They were going to find out sooner or later, right? It was a matter of time."
But it's my fault! I made it happen sooner! It's because I posted that stupid picture of the shoes you gave me!
"It's fiiine, Misty. Please don't blame yourself."
I told Rudy to take it down but he said it will just make people more curious. He blocked comments posting, though. The account was going crazy!
"He's right." And Ash hated when Rudy is right.
I had no idea, Ash. I'm sorry...
The picture Misty posted of herself wearing a dress and the limited edition shoes was long forgotten in her Instagram account - or so she thought.
One comment on the picture was enough to make all the journalist of tabloids go crazy about an eventual relationship between Ash Ketchum of MariGold and Misty Williams, the model.
This pair is a limited edition - there are f*cking diamonds on it. There is just one out there and Misty got it. You know who bought it, according to Floxane shop? Ash Ketchum from the Ketchum family who owns MariGold (deserves to be Googled, trust me). Are they together?
Now, everyone wants to know if it's true or not.
"Ash!" The door of Ash's office snapped open. It was his mother.
"We'll talk later, okay?" Ash told Misty on the phone. "I'll be fine, no worries."
Stay safe...
Ash ended the call. He looked at his mother. "Just a few curious journalists, mom. No need to worry."
Delia grabbed his hand. "We should call the police!"
"Mom! They're just journalists!" He laughed. "They won't hurt me!"
"You need to be escorted." Delia took out her phone.
"I don't have a problem with those journalists." Ash shrugged. "I'm not afraid of them."
She looked at him.
"They only want to know if Misty and I are really together. They just want a juicy story, something new to write about."
"Well, don't tell them about marriage yet! Okay?" Delia tried to catch any change on Ash's face expression.
"Marriage? What?" He laughed.
"Yes! They shouldn't know. That's for when you become president. You can't ruin the surprise now!"
Ash paused for a moment.
He stuttered, "I-I think I might need the bodyguards to escort me to my car..."
