Deaf Man's Heart

I cannot hear

the rhythmic gears,

the speaking of my heart.

I cannot hear,

or bring to bear,

my lonely piece in part.

My ears work fine,

but there's many a line,

on my lonely deaf man's heart.

The beats are mighty,

but distractions are plenty,

to hide away my part.

I fall from grace,

and lose my place,

in Hell lies my smoldering heart.

I do not dare,

to bring to bear,

my lonely deaf man's part.

I cannot hear,

the rhythmic gears,

the teachings of my heart.
