Charlie cautiously took a step back. The words 'Stranger Danger' rang loud and clear in her head despite Damien technically being family.
The five year old examined his face closely in search of any possible mischief or danger however he seemed genuinely happy to see her.
"Look at you flower, have you grown since I last saw you" the man cooed kneeling down to be at a closer height to Charlie.
She had to admit the action made him seem a lot less intimidating.
Charlie shook her head shyly , maybe she had grown . She'd eaten a lot of carrots in the past week.
Damien smiled at the little one, his eyes drifting down to her wrist.
"You're not wearing you're bracelet Charlie " He suddenly commented, his tone noticeably darkening.
Charlie flinched a little not liking where the conversation was going , she hadn't not worn the bracelet on purpose. In fact Charlie loved the gift , it was beautiful and made her feel rather grown up.
Damiens eyes softened as he noticed his little cousins uncomfortableness, he didn't want to scare her however it was imperative she wore the thing.
"I'm sorry" Charlie mumbled quietly playing with them hem of her sleeves, "Leo said it wasn't s-suitable for school " she added struggling to pronounce the word 'suitable'.
Damien simply smirked shaking his head a little , " that's alright bambina , but next time please remember to wear it. It would break my heart to know my little Charlie didn't like my gift " he spoke playfully pouting.
Charlie couldn't help but giggle at the childish action, maybe Damien wasn't as bad as her brothers portrayed him to be .
"I'll put it on when I get home" she smiled politely, the child had a heart of gold.
Raising his thumb to caress her little cheek Damien grinned , "good girl".
The man was about to speak again however was interrupted by a fuming Oscar storming over .
"Get the fuck away from her".
Charlie looked up to her brother who seemed to be in a state of anger , next to him a smaller figure stood confusion and shock lacing his face .
Oscar didn't care if Damien was their blood or not , he didn't want him sneaking around speaking to his little sister unsupervised.
