1. First Day

I was busy folding my own clothes as well as my roommates clothes too.

My laptop was on, my favourite show playing while I nibbled on some crackers and cheese,

I was busy folding a red dress when my phone started ringing,

I quickly dashed over and picked it up,

"Hey! (Y/N), just calling to see if you've got dinner sorted out or if I should pick up on my way home?"

It was my roommate Sam, she probably just got off work.

"Huh? Oh yeah, no uhhhh-"

I dashed to the kitchen and threw open the fridge,

Milk, cheese... and that was it.

I opened the freezer too, but all that was there was a packet of peas and some ice.

I sighed,

"I can pick up some don't worry."

There was no reply on the other side until,

"Are you sure?"

I nodded, not that she could see,

"Yeah, besides I need to get out..."

"Well ok, I'll see you later! And don't even think about buying pizza again!"

I laughed as I said goodbye and hung up,

I grabbed my wallet and keys and left.

I dont have a car, between Sam and I we only had her work car...

So I decided to walk, it was late in the evening already and Raccoon city was still wide awake.

I sped past the crowds towards the shop and finally arrived.

It didn't take long for me to find what I planned to cook,

Some potatoes, steak and gravy,

I added all these things to my basket and somehow managed to get to the counter just before the store closed,

"Excuse me! Sir?"

The man had his back to me, he was leaning heavily on the shelf that was against the wall,

I frowned and rang the bell,

"Uh sir?"

Again nothing, the lady behind me groaned and shoved me out the way,

"Honestly! These old people need to learn when to retire-"
