Part Six! A Misunderstanding

It suddenly clicked for Natalie, Jay was talking about Devon. As in Devv. She didn’t know what to do now; go tell Devv, or talk to Jay and tell him that she knows. She decided to talk to Jay first and get all this confusion sorted out. She knocked on the door and waited for someone to let her in. Max came to the door and invited her in, a bit confused and worried by the look on Nat’s face. “What’s wrong?” asked Max as she walked in and shut the door behind her. “Well me and Devv were coming to talk to you guys, and well we herd you talking…”

“Oh god” Said Jay “How much did you hear.”

“Well as you may have noticed Jay, Devv has quite a thing for you” Said Nat reluctantly, as she didn’t know how Devv would fell about her telling all the boys.

“She does?” Asked Jay shocked.

“Err…well yes” said Natalie.

“Well that a relief” Said Jay

“Well anyway, she herd you lot talking, and she think you like someone else Jay, she got really upset and ran off before she heard the rest of your conversation.”

“Oh god, I have only known her a few hours and I have already upset her, why do I always do this.” Said Jay, who was starting to look a little upset. “I have to go talk to her and sort this out, tell her it is her that I like.” He said.

“Mate I’m really sorry but this is going to have to wait, we have to go back on stage now, but I promise we will give you all the time you want after, but everyone is waiting out there for us to go on.” Said Nathan apologetically.

“Okay thanks guys” Said Jay. He was feeling really bad now, because he seriously liked Devv, and now she thought he liked someone else. He could not go round moping about it, Jay would talk to Devv after the show, but now he had to go out there and sing.

The Wanted ran out on stage and Devv was avoiding looking at them, after what she heard Jay saying, she didn’t think she could look him in the eye without crying. This set of songs was shorter than the first and it included: Rocket, A cover of Afternoon Delight- This was amazing as they did it total acapella. They then sung, Satellite, Let’s Get Ugly and Weakness. To finish was Hi & Low. This was sung mainly by Jay; Devon was now fighting the tears. She risked looking up to the stage and Jay was staring right at her. ‘Why” she thought, ‘why was he doing this, flirting with her when he liked someone else.’ She had had enough; she just wanted to go home to bed. The song finished and the boys said thanks to everyone for coming, but Devon wasn’t listening. She walked over to Hollie, Soph, and Bethn to tell them she was going home. She explained what had happened with Jay, they were all really sorry for her and understood why she was going home. “I will see you later guys, if you want to stay tonight you can, just come over when the party finishes okay.” Said Devon.

“Okay” Said Hollie hugging Devv.

“Has any of you seen Natalie, she mad with me but I haven’t seen her since.

“Yeah she was talking to Jay after the song finished.

“Oh god what had she said to him, I bet he thinks’ I’m a loser.”

“Not at all babe” Said Beth giving Devon a hug. “Nat’s here now go talk to her” Said Beth.

“Okay see you guys later then” Said Devv as she walked over to Nat.

She tapped Natalie on the shoulder. “Hey babe I’m going home now.” She said.

“Oh right why?” Asked Nat.

“I can’t stay here with Jay being here, but it doesn’t matter you have a good time, and tell The Wanted I said thanks for coming.” Said Devv.

“No, No you can’t go not because of that, come with Jay want to talk to you.” Said Nat.

“No I don’t want to talk to him; he probably thinks I’m just some stupid little fan girl who has a crush on him.” Said Devon walking away.

“Devv come back, please just hear him out. For me please.” Pleaded Natalie not Devon.

“Fine but I’m only doing this for you.” She said stomping back to Natalie, she felt like having a Tom tantrum, but now was not the time to be getting upset.

Natalie half walked, half dragged Devv up the corridor to the room that The Wanted were in. Natalie knocked on the door, “Its Nat, I’ve got Devv with me” She said to the door. It slowly opened and Tom was stood on the other side, “So you managed to persuade her to come talk to him then?” Asked Tom laughing.

“Just about, she nearly threw a Tom Tantrum out there though.” Laughed Nat.

“A Tom what” Asked Tom.

‘Oh god” thought Nat she was in it now. “ Err…well when you have a bit of a tantrum, us fans call it a Tom Tantrum, so yeah it’s just a laugh.” Said Natalie a bit awkwardly. “Well okay anyway, will she talk to him then.” Asked Tom

“Devv will you talk to Jay please, look you didn't here the full conversation” Said Nat

“Okay but i'm not being made a fool of” Said Devon.

“Deal” Said Nat. Natalie had to practically shove Devon into the room and quickly shut the door.

Devv had only just enough time to turn around, before there was a quick movement from the other side of the room. Suddenly Jay was kissing her, she didn't know what was going on, she wanted to say something, but his lips were so soft she just wanted to live in this moment forever. Everyone was cheering, but it felt like it was just her and Jay. Her hands were grabbing on to any part of him she could reach, taking in every bit of him, this had to be the best moment of her life. He released her and just stood there looking in to her eyes, Devv felt like she was going to melt.

“It's you I like Devv, no one else, i'm not trying to mess you around, I was flirting because I liked you from the moment I saw you earlier this afternoon.”

“Really?” She asked dumbly.

“Yes, do I need to kiss you again to prove that?” Jay asked.

“No, I mean yes, I mean, I believe you” Said Devon, everyone laughed at her then. “Oh shut it, im a bit flustered okay, just give me a minute please.” Devv didn't know what to say. “Do you really like me Jay?” She asked.

“Yes” Was all he said, Devv just wanted to be sure before she launched her self at him and kissed him. He held her tightly and kissed her back with the same amount of passion. They kissed for so long Devon thought she was going to black out.

“Excuse me” Said Nath “We are still here you know”

“Oh I know” Laughed Devv.

“Good well don't you think you better get back out there, since it is a party.” Said Nath. “Devon, your friends will be looking for you.” He made a good point, but Devv didn't want to leave Jay, she had felt such a roller-coaster of emotions today; excitement, happiness, loneliness, rejection and now love, she didn't think she could handle any more. “I know I will have to go find them” Said Devv. She knew everyone would mob her when they saw her with Jay, but she didn't care, she reached out and took his hand. He laced is fingers through hers and they went to face the crowd.
