One week later

I still can't believe I actually got into Erichton's. I've been packing and unpacking my things for days. I leave tonight, Athena is supposedly going to teleport here for pick up. We've been texting pretty much ever since we left the exam arena. She's been practicing her teleportation mostly. Trying to prevent herself from accidentally going somewhere dangerous. That was the first thing my family warned her about

We were waiting in the locker room together because they want my family to mentor her. She's the only T3 in history to have been born into a "muggle" family. They think that because we have at least one member with each of her 3 powers, we'll be able to help her learn about her abilities and with the super-world in general. It also means that I have quickly made my first friend from the academy. It's going to being an interesting first year.

Some things to know about Erichton's Academy:

There's a reason that you can't get in until you're 21 at least. Most people don't discover their abilities until their teens or late-teens and they want to give you some time to develop them a bit on your own if possible. Everybody is different and the way to control your powers is unique to you. They don't want their training to prevent you from understanding your abilities. That being said, they won't let your lack of understanding prevent you from being admitted. They just want you to develop your own sense of something that's a part of you.

It's going to be difficult for both of us because we didn't realize these parts of ourselves until exam day. Athena has a lot more work to do, because she has three new abilities to learn. However, I do think she has been getting the hang of her teleportation. Mostly because it is probably the most dangerous thing to do. Many people with that power have accidentally teleported to the wrong place and either lost body parts or died. That's not to say that other powers aren't dangerous. People with psychic powers like mine can inflict accidental damage on others minds or even get stuck searching through someone's thoughts. Depends on the type of telepath you are. Clairvoyance is also pretty dangerous. In the sense that attempting to prevent a seen future can set it into motion. Or lead to a much worse, unforeseen future.

All of these scary thoughts are running through my head that I haven't really considered before. Going to Erichton's always seemed like a reality never quite within my reach and now that its happening, I am realizing that its a lot more dangerous than the daydreams I've had all my life. Although, anything can be dangerous, so I should just suck it up and go to the school I've been reaching towards all my life.

The only thing I should feel bad about is quitting my job with no notice. I knew it was a possibility from the beginning, but I thought I might have at least had the chance to work one last shift, but sorting through my stuff to what I really need for school and what I really should leave at home is a lot more difficult this time around. When I left for university, I packed way too much with no thought. Then I overstuffed my dorm room with my belongings. This time, I'm going to carefully select the clothes I want to take. If I really need to come home and pick something up I can no problem especially when Athena has gotten the hang of tagalong teleporting.
