So um...sorry for the delay? Lol I've been having a lot of fun writing my Rewriting History Tyrant Rout harem lmao but it took me maybe two days to write this as I knew what I wanted to do.

Now, it'll seem like time is really flying by in this chapter, but I have to space events out reasonably, and with what's happening, I can't really pull much content out from between the bigger events, so this is kind of a recap of the past two weeks I guess, before it leads into a new conflict, we are reaching the point where things are coming to a close I think, I don't really have many chapters left in me, and let's just say...Steven is kinda goin' off the deep end here...

It had been almost two weeks since Steven had lost Spinel and he wasn't fairing well. Once he had woken up from his forced slumber that White had put him in, he recalled everything that had happened: the prison break, loosing Spinel...shattering Holly Blue, needless to say, he was at an all time low.

Once he came to, he left his room on homeworld and went straight to the Diamonds. He made them help try and bring back Spinel, figuring that if anyone could do so, it was them...unfortunately it didn't work. "I...I don't know if I can do this anymore... all I can really say is just please don't go back to the way things used to be. Anyways, it's up to you on how you deal with the rebels from now on, I'm going home."

"Steven, please just listen to us! You don't have to leave, I understand you're upset, but homeworld needs you, we need you!" Blue tried to convince him to stay, not wanting to lose the boy that had grown on them so much, but he didn't say anything as he turned around, made his way over to the warp pad, and left.

He didn't tell anyone he had come back when he warped into his tower, he just went down to his room, locked the doors, shut the blinds, and crawled into bed with Spinel's gem. It took a day or so, but eventually the Diamonds called to ask about him, leading to his room and personal space being invaded, only this time, they were more of an annoyance than help, causing him to summon his bubble so he didn't have to hear or acknowledge them.

Everyone was very reluctant to leave him, but they could take a hint and did so not long after they came to him, as per Garnet's orders. Now it had been thirteen days, the Gems coming up to him every now and again to try and talk to him and leave him food that he'd hardly touch.

Nevertheless, today was one of Connie's sword training days, and once she heard about his current situation, she was quick to make her way up to his room. "Steven?...Steven, why are you ignoring the Gems?"

The teen looked over to her with a slight glare, even more bitter towards her about her behavior than he was before, and just like he did when the Gems came up here, he went to bubble himself again, but Connie had anticipated this and jumped on top of him, the hybrid now trapped in the bubble with her. "Listen, Universe, I'm here to help you, now you're going to talk to me about what happened because I'm not leaving until you do."

"Why do you even care?! Did you care when you stopped talking to me after I came back?! I don't even know why you come around here anymore! We aren't friends, you made that much obvious already, especially when you got all upset that I was being happy with someone else!" Steven shouted at her, dissipating his bubble and shoving the teenage girl off of himself. "Just go away already!"

Usually, Connie would've gotten upset and just left, but when she looked into his eyes, she saw past this aimless anger, she saw the broken boy that was really standing before her...she couldn't in good conscious leave, and maybe helping him would make up for the...unbecoming behavior she demonstrated a month ago.
