Next morning I rose from the dead of my bed. It was about 5am and I really didn't feel like going to this place. I wasn't there for the money I was there for the blood. My parents made me become a phlebotomist fresh out of highschool for family reasons. We were a family of vampires and we needed blood but some of us didn't want to risk harming humans. Unless, they were evil humans, well in other terms ones with bad attitude like the one lady at my job. I just shook my head and contuined to get ready for work trying to figure out what scrubs to wear. I went for this scrub top that had blood drops on a black background linking it with black pants. I didn't put the shirt on though I usually didnt put it on until I got ready to go because I always found a way to get either coffee or toothpaste on it. I just threw it on the bed and walked to the kitchen to get some coffee started before I take the elixir. If you were from the clan and had a regular job you had to take the elixir in order to function. Unfortunately I was one of those people with a regular job. But i took it , it made my eyes roll around and then back because that swallow was stronger than whiskey, I honestly could of put it in my coffee but I wanted to pretend I was normal when drinking coffee. Omg that taste helped me assure I didn't forget my routine because next I knew to brush my teeth. Like literally scrub the taste which mentally that wasn't enough. Timing was going against me I had to hurry and put my coffee in my travel cup,run and get my shirt and than shoot out the door. Time was looking like 30 minutes until work.

Work:
I made it to work with 3 minutes to spare. I punched in ,turned all the lights on in every room and organized the sign in table. I was at work alone. The way we were scheduled wasn't to bad. I was the 6am person, Darcy was the 6:30am person and Rose was the 7:30am person. So I had 30 minutes before Darcy showed up. I think that was when I was the happiest, I could get away with tubes being drawn. I usually would get patients who had appointments that early. I always recommended to everyone who sat in my chair to come as early as possible to avoid high traffic outside and in here. I didn't care about traffic I just wanted enough time to do what I needed to do. Which was now, show time. My first patient was a 85 year old lady ,she was really petite and hunched over. Her entire head was gray and curly and she always accompanied it with colorful hair bands. One thing about her was she asked a lot of questions only because she bruised easily. She was getting a routine check which consisted of a sugar check and a thyroid check via blood work. So I doubled the tubes which was two Lavender tubes and two grey tubes. One tube for me and one tube to send off to the lab. She asked "why do I need all those tubes?". I said "the lab sometimes needs extra tubes for error purposes". I hated when she asked me extra questions and I also hated taking extra tubes from her I wasn't sure if she was on to me or she was not okay with getting bruises after all that blood was being took. But I honestly didn't care because I had to focus on why I needed it. I needed it for my parents elixir rum. It was concocted of humans blood. After I finished my last tube the petite little lady put her coat on and I walked her out the room to the door. I had about 4 more patients that I took in that thirty minutes. I kept all the samples in an ice bucket so I could keep them in there regular state. By the time I finished taking my patients Darcy came rolling in with donuts and a super happy mood shouting "top of the morning". I waved with a corny smile saying "good morning ". She took off her belongings and hung them up in the break room, and than clocked in. She came back down the hall amd rambled on about her hot date yesterday and than asked me about my day and why I never hang with her and rose. I shrugged and said " I have another private job overnights". I literally never told Darcy and rose about my other life they didn't even know I was stealing blood from our out patients. They would of reported me to the Cdc immediately. I thought to myself that I knew some people knew me and my people walked this earth but we in this time did not make it obvious like our elder vampires, they were messy they thought we were all killed off. She blurted out "well one day you can ditch your private job and hang with your co-workers I know there some day when I'm bitchy but dating may have changed my mood". I laughed and tried hurry my next patient im the room. By this time Rose walked in with a funky attitude greeting us with a dry hey everyone. I wanted to call her a bitch but instead i I said "hey" back dry wnd Darcy was again with the extraness. Whoever this man was I wanted him to keep up with giving her a good mood as for rose she needed something.

3 hours into the shift I did inventory because I always wanted to beat them to it in case tube countings looked funny. It wasn't like we had a system where we kept track of tube errors we made but just in case I stayed on the inventory count. The more tubes that were being used the faster the tube counts had to be signed out for when we needed a new pack. I would steal some of Darcy or Roses tubes before I started my shift. I also wouldn't be greedy with the amount of blood I took for the day I only took 10 tubes, which was 2 tubes from 5 patients a day. If things seemed out of order our big boss would change the system up. Our big boss rarely came in which was a good then. I didnt care for the nig boss So shrugged and finished the inventory, took my break and than finished the rest of my shift, leaving at 2pm. I ran out of there quick fast and in a hurry.
