Stay With Me // DaiSuga

Chapter five

{Suga POV}
It had been about 2 days since I first vistited Daichi. It was finally Wednesday which meant that the whole team could come see him. After school ends, we all agree to meet at the front gate and all head to the hospital together.

We stay for about 30 minutes before people start leaving. As I'm about to leave with Asahi and Noya, Daichi asks if I can stay back for a minute. I tell the others to go on without me.

"What is it?" I ask as I sit next to his bed.

"It's nothing." He answered. "I just wanted to spend some time with you before you left." The room fell into a comfortable silence. We both sat there, enjoying each others company.

"So, do you know when you're gonna be discharged?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Not exactly." He said. "They said It should be within the next week or so." I feel a tear roll down my face, proceeded with the warmth of Daichis hand of my face as he gently wipes the tear away with his thumb. "Why are you crying?" He asked in a really soothing voice. I didn't know how to answer because, to be honest, I didn't even know. I started wiping my face with my sleeves.

"I-I don't know. I jus-" I was cut by Daichis finger on my lip. He grabbed my hands in his. I felt my heart skip a beat.

"I know I asked, but if you're crying because you think it's your fault, it's seriously not." The room went silent, followed by Daichis voice. "Suga, would you mind staying the night?" He asked me. He looked at me with pleading eyes.

"I would, but I have school tomorrow." That wasn't the real reason I didn't want to stay though. To be completely honest, part of me did want to stay, but there was part of me that wouldn't let me, so I tried to make up a believable excuse.

Daichi looked at me with a look of suspicion painted on his face.

"Your first class isn't till second period, is it not?" I pretended to go over my schedule in my head, but I already knew I had no choice.

"Huh, I guess you're right." We got permission from the Docter so I ended up sleeping on a small cot provided by the hospital for friends and family of patients who stay overnight.

We talked for a little while before I heard a light snor come from the bed. I look over to see Daichi sound asleep. I smile to myself.

"Goodnight, Daichi." I whisper before I close my eyes and fall into a deep sleep.

---------------The Next Morning---------------

{Daichi POV}
I woke up at around 10:00am the morning after I was visited by the team. I look beside me to see an empty space where Suga had slept. There was nothing there.

Looks like it was just a dream! He would never actually spend the night in a filthy hospital just for you.

I stare at the empty space when something catches my eye. A bright yellow sticky note on the little table attached to my bed.

Sorry I didn't wait for you to wake up. I had a student council meeting that I forgot about. I'll come visit after school.

I smiled at the note before his voice filled my head.

He probably left that note in the middle of the night after you fell asleep. He had no reason to stay with you.

I tried not to listen, but I couldn't help myself. Those words echoed in my head while I held the note close to my chest. Suddenly, the door opens.

"Hey, you're awake." Said the Docter with a smile on her face. "Your friend left about half hour ago, but he said that he would be back to visit. Just thought you should know." She said as she checked my charts. I felt a wave of relief wash over my body as I heard those words. Knowing it wasn't a dream and that he actually stayed made me feel a lot better.

"How you feeling today?" She asked, not even looking up from the clipboard that hamgs at telhe foot of my bed.

"Fine, I guess." I replied. "Definitely better than yesterday." She looked up at me with a smile.

"That's good to hear." She gathered a few documents from the chart and placed them in a binder. She hung the chart back on the foot of my bed. "I'll be back to check on you in a bit." She smiled and walked out of the room.
I sat in my bed for the rest of the day, patiently wait for Suga.

Around 2:40, there was a ruckus in the hospital. There were loud sirens from outside, docters yelling orders, people crying and whining in pain.

The docter comes into my room trying to remain calm. There was another young woman, about 27 I would guess, stand next to her.

"Daichi, there was an accident so I'll have one of my interns checking in you for a while." My heart dropped when she said there was an accident. The young girl stepped forward.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Miyazaki." She smiled and took a look at my charts. My main docter left the room. "Daichi Sawamura. You were found unconscious in your bathroom after attempting suicide. You suffered from blood loss and coded once. You under went minor surgery and coded again not long after. You are currently trying to rest until your condition is stable enough to leave." She looked up from the charts. "That sound about right?" I gave a small chuckle.

"Yup." She hung the chart back on my bed.

"Well, you look pretty stable at the moment. I'll have to wait for Dr. Kirakou, but I would say you should be ready to leave any day now." I smiled at the thought of being able to leave this place. "Do you have any questions before I leave?"

"Would you mind telling me about the accident?" I couldn't shake this feeling that I had. I'm not quite sure what it was, but I just had some sort of bad feeling.

"There was a bus crash near Karasuno High." My heart began racing and my hands started shaking.
"W-What bus number?" I hesitatly ask.

"Bus number 517." I feel my heart drop to my stomach. Sugas bus...

What is this? A new chapter and a cliifhanger? Yes it's true! Im finally kinda over my writers block! I know its only been 3 days since the last chapter but if feels like forever to me so yea. Please enjoy this and I will be back in a few days with the new chapter.
