carson has been staring at me for too long. i made eye contact with him on accident. he waves at me.
i cannot express how much i don't want this. oh god, he's coming my way. i forgot my headphones!

Carson claps a hand onto my shoulder. I awkwardly smile at him and greet Casey. She was standing behind him, arms crossed in a way that hid herself.
"Hey buddy!" Carson said. He wrapped his arm around Casey, who shifted uncomfortably. I nod at him as a response. Talking really wasn't my thing.
People were looking at us. What did the popular Carson want with the weird kid who likes schedules a little too much? That's a good question, if you ask me. "What's poppin?" I finally respond.
Carson whispers something into Casey's ear. She takes a deep breathe, hesitating before she walks away and sits down in her chair. The flat-headed boy sits down next to me. He quietly talks to me, so no one can hear.
"Listen. I have no problem with you. I understand that my girlfriend is hot but I just don't feel comfortable with you texting her." He whispers, feigning a sympathetic smile.
Cringing internally, I nod in response once again. I didn't know what to say.
"Well, glad we could have this talk. Man to man, ya know?" He says, cough-laughing. I hated his laugh.
"How does Casey feel?" I asks abruptly. I think I shocked him more than I shocked myself. "Aren't you best friends with that Kate chick?"
Carsons eyes narrowed. "Kate and I have been best friends for years. Completely different than you two suddenly texting each other."
I nod. I guess that makes sense. "You're right. I don't know why I asked."
Carson didn't respond. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away with no vocal response.
I flip open my journal but find no words. I just sign it before shoving it in my book bag.
