It had been so long, and Bambina struggled to keep her composure around him, just wanting to hug him tight and never let him go.
There were two meeting rooms in the house, zero windows so that no one could spy in - not that they would dare in the first place. The white walls looked as if it were painted dark red, but if someone would look closer, they would realise that it was blood, dried blood.
The first time she saw him again was when she walked into the room, her belly was too big to hide, but at least she could cover her face and try to speak in a deeper voice so he wouldn't recognise her.
He looked extremely annoyed when she first opened the door. She wasn't entirely surprised that he had killed Ryan, but he died for his family, his death would be honoured.
Relieved that Charly was fairly ok, she had led him to her office in the meeting house, making sure that they brought Charly. When they were going up the stairs, she felt his heated gaze on her, watching as she wobbled up, and making sure that she wouldn't do anything he didn't like. The two men that trailed after Marcello were big - not as big as Marcello, but fairly big. She had never seen them before, so she could only guess that they were new or were just never in Marcello's mansion.
When she sat down, she started to get excited - hormones no doubt - and was keen to prove to him that she was just as feared as he was, maybe even more so. She wanted to prove something that even she couldn't figure out.
Bambina hadn't ever planned to reveal her true identity to Marcello, but damn those hormones and her baby brain, when he threatened to shoot her brains out, she had grinned and dared him, taking off her mask without even registering that that was what she was doing.
His astonished expression stared at her, confusion clear on his mind.
"Yes, I am pregnant," she responded and flicked her wrist, all her men abruptly leaving the room and snatching Charly out of Marcello's men's hands.
His men had no chance against hers, her men had been trained to not fear death, to do all for the good of the family, the family before even themselves. They worked out for hours on end, killing whoever they were ordered to, if they didn't they could say goodbye to their life. But even with the rules, they were treated fairly and cared for all in the family. There was no contention within it, and if there was, it was promptly stamped out. Regardless of the fact that their mafia was fairly small in comparison to others, it helped everyone have a closer relationship with one another.
The men carefully carried Charly to their closest nurse as Marcello's men looked clueless about what they were meant to do.
"You're dead." He deadpanned, trying to control his raging emotions.
"Really? I wasn't last time I checked," Bambina looked at her hands, turning them back and forth.
"I don't understand," he walked closer to her desk.
"You don't need to." Bambina wrapped her hands together and placed them around her belly.
Marcello turned, giving his men a look and they warily left the room, "Bambina, I love you," he walked around the desk, as she swivelled in her chair to face him.
"You hurt me." She pouted, watching his every move.
"Not on purpose Bambi, it was that whore's fault, and she got punished accordingly," he scowled deeply, thinking about that bitch.
She was in the cells, skin on her fingers peeled off, many cuts everywhere as she sat in her own filth, chained heavily to the wall, only getting scraps to eat occasionally.
"She had pushed herself onto me... You were, are and will always be the only one for me," he fell to his knees in front of her, "I fucking love you so much that it hurts. When I thought you were dead I wanted to end it, end the suffering and the pain, but something kept me going. Now I know what it is, I am never letting it go, I don't care if the baby isn't mine, I'll kill it's bastard father and be theirs." His arms slowly reached around Bambina and pulled her closer to him as he hugged her, head resting on her stomach as she felt his body shaking.
"Your twins," she choked out, trying to control the tears that so desperately wanted to fall, he was adorable.
It would've been hard to believe that this man, the man on his knees, declaring his undying love for her, was the same as the man who threatened to blow her brains up onto the floor to ceiling. But for her, it wasn't hard to believe, considering her past.
"What?" He looked up at her with his big green eyes that resembled a rain forest.
"They're yours," she smiled through the tears that she wasn't able to hold back, "a baby boy and a baby girl."
"Mine?" Marcello looked at her belly adoringly, his heart filling with an emotion that had been absent for the past 6 months that he didn't have his ray of sunshine with him.
"Without a doubt."
