Marcello woke up and the first thing he noticed was his sore back. Groaning, he lifted himself off of the floor and looked to Bambina, who was on her back and drooling a little.

Leaning down, he kissed the top of her head and left the room, heading to see Angel.

The room was big and half full. The room had an ongoing gold and white theme, a window overlooking the garden, just like the spare bedroom did. The left half of the room had a white cot and was obviously used often, with Angel playing with her feet as she lied on her back. The right side of the room was empty, with only a black cot up against the wall.

Marcello's heart fell, thinking about his little son, who, instead of living his life and playing with his sister and mother, was 6-feet underground.

"Mama!" Angel squealed and his attention was brought to the baby.

"It's Papa," Marcello softly smiled and went to her cot, picking her up.

"Mama." She repeated with her chubby hands on his stubby cheeks.

"Pa, pa." Marcello repeated and carried her down to the modern kitchen.

Placing her down on a high chair, he began rustling through all of the pots and pans as he began to make brunch.

---

"Say aah," opening his mouth, he placed the spoon in Angel's mouth.

She laughed, making all the food fall out of her mouth as she gave him a toothy grin.

Shaking his head, Marcello began to put the pots in the sink, washing them as he watched Angel smush a banana piece onto her cheek.

"You're so loud!" Bambina groaned as she entered the kitchen, hair a mess and a hand on her head as she dealt with her hangover.

"I poured some coffee for you," Marcello gestured to the peach coloured mug that stood solitary on the bench.

Grumbling her thanks, she began to chug the warm liquid down her throat.

"Morning baby," she kissed Angel's head who touched Bambina's cheek, transferring some squashed banana.

"I prefer daddy." Marcello grinned cheekily as he watched Bambina's mouth open in horror and a deep red blush covered her face.

"Dada!" Angel squealed, clapping her hands to Marcello, ignoring her mother.

"You said, Dada! I'm s proud of you my little baby!" Marcello grinned like crazy and with soapy hands, kissed the little girls head after walking around the bench.

"Dada wet!" She laughed as his soapy hands touched her chubby cheeks.

"You're such a smart girl!" Bambina praised as Marcello returned to washing the dishes, a grin still on his face.

Angel only laughed and continued to smush food onto her face.

Bambina sat on one of the island stools, head in hands as she continued to drink the coffee, "How are you so happy so early in the morning?" she grumbled, glaring at Marcello.

"It's midday," Marcello shook his head in amusement, finishing off the last dishes.

"Eh," she waved her hand.

It was quiet, Angel had fallen asleep in her chair and the adults weren't saying anything.

Bambina cleaned up Angel's mess and lifted the sleeping girl up, taking her to her room, Marcello following closely behind.

Upon putting Angel to bed, Marcello spoke up, "We need to talk."

Her heart fell, she didn't really remember much from the previous night, but she knew enough to know that she had embarrassed herself dearly, kissing him without warning, and him pushing her away.

He didn't like her that way, and he had stayed purely because of Angel. She mentally prepared herself, steeling herself and washing her face of any emotions, keeping her eyes black of any turmoil.

"We can go to the dining table." She turned around and Marcelo noticed her change in attitude, the expressionless face that she had turned to him.

They walked and then sat, the glass table cold against the palm of her hands as she flattened it nervously.

She wouldn't shy from her feelings, even if he didn't feel the same, she wouldn't lie to herself and him about her love.

"What did you want to talk about?" Even though she had prepared, her heart still raced out of nervousness and her palms became sweaty, so she removed them from the table, placing them on her lap.

"Last night," he paused and watched her reaction, or rather lack of reaction, "do you regret kissing me?"

She gulped discreetly, "I could never. Though you don't love me, that won't ever stop me from loving you. And as much as it hurts, I accept that fact. If you want, and you probably will, you can visit Angel anytime you want to, but you might have to excuse me if I'm not around when you are and - "

"Bambi," Marcello interrupted and she shot him a glare.

"I would like to ask that you not bring your new woman around my child - "

"Bambi,"

She shot him another glare before continuing, "That might seem like an obnoxious request, but these are my conditions." Bambina finished speaking and there was a moment of silence as Marcello tried to figure out if she had more to say.

Upon coming to the conclusion that she didn't, he opened his mouth to speak, but Bambina continued, "And don't even think about trying to take Angel from me," he narrowed his eyes, "I'm sorry, continue."

"Bambi, I will bring my woman when I'm with Angel," she opened her mouth to protest but he spoke before she could, "I am more sure now than ever that being with her is a great decision, and after all, it is her child."

"What?" Bambina screeched, "Angel's my baby! My child! I will not have her looking at another woman as her mother!"

"Bambi, I promise you, that she won't look at another woman as her mother," Marcello assured her and she shot up in her chair.

"How can you be sure?" She was getting angry now.

"Because you're the woman." Her mouth shut and she plopped down onto the chair, dumbfounded, "Bambi, I love you, and I always have. I know that I have hurt you in the past, but it was only because was dumb, and so confused. I never meant to hurt you." Marcello explained and Bambina, so unprepared for his confession, confusion swirled in her brown eyes.

"You... you love me?"

"Of course," Marcello smiled.

"I love you too," Bambina also began to smile.

She reached forward ad wrapped her hands around him, bringing him to hug her.

The moment was ruined as a loud cry rang through the house.
