Chapter 1

The rotten bars creak as they opened, and my body was quickly thrown in against the hard ground. I don't even attempt to move as the the door squeaks closed and the lock clicks like usual.

Today The Master was even more angry than usual, and that meant an extra hard round for me. I didn't mean to do it. To cry. He was just so rough with the steel star that I couldn't hold it in. The Master has had me on the steel star almost everyday this wee, causing it to become harder to wake up everyday. He used to put me on that thing a couple times a week. However, something has angered him, which in turn gets released onto us. His prisoners.

I could still feel the needles and cuts as it made numerous indentations into my body. He even used electricity today, which is pretty rare. I could see his Brown, almost black, eyes filled with glee as it came onto my pale skin. His black hair had been splattered with droplets of my blood, reminding me of the events that happened not so long ago.

I still didn't move from my spot. I knew that it would just make it worse. Make the pain worse. Tears slowly slide down my face and I didn't even bother to wipe them away. I don't care if they see anymore. Hopefully they'll just kill me.

The cold floor started to get sticky with my blood. I felt it ooze through my ragged shirt and onto the concrete floor. I should have been worried, but this happens every time.

After a couple of minutes, I decided to take to my usual spot. It was the only pitch black corner in the cell. I loved this spot, because It made me feel invisible. Invisible to all of the suffering. I knew that they could still come in here and take me back but I still liked to pretend I could just fly out of here and leave this place behind. But I knew better than that. I couldn't give my self lost hope.

I was brought out of my thoughts as a girl, about my age, came in thrashing and screaming. She was held by two guards, wear their usual masks. Their masks were silver, and they were accompanied with hooded black robes.

The girl had short Brown hair that fell in waves around her head, and her eyes were a beautiful dark blue.

The guards threw her into the cell next to mine, and the lock slid closed.

Her figure hurriedly run to the bars, burning with anger.

"Let me out! You will pay for this I swear! I swear on my life you'll pay!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. The sudden scream echoed against the stone walls, allowing its volume to become deafening to my ears. I instinctively flinched.

She must have noticed because she turned toward me and gasped. She shouldn't be surprised; She'll look like this soon enough. I was like her when I first came and for a while I thought someone would come save me, But they never did.

"Hey, are you all right," She asked.

I looked up at her and avoided meeting her eyes. I knew not to look anyone in the eyes, for fear of being beaten.

My only reply was a short nod.

"Are you sure. You don't look so good. Just stay awake a little bit longer. My family is coming to save me. They'll save you to."

"They won't come. no one ever will." I whispered.

"No. They will. I promise you they will."

I only nodded again. It wasn't worth fighting about.

I laid myself on the concrete and began to fall asleep.

Before I knew what was happening a loud scream broke into my ear.

"Get up! You lazy A**! get up!"

Oh no, it was The Master.

My feet stood me up quickly as the pain in my back intensified. I bowed in respect and Show that I was his to command.

"Follow me!" He ordered.

I urgently followed as the girl in the cell next to me was hand cuffed and held by two guards as earlier.

The Master led us up the gigantic stairway that led to the steel star.

No, no, no. Please, God, no. if I get another round I won't survive.

when we entered the room, my heart started to beat faster at the sight of the room. The room it's self was fairly large, and The steel star sat at the back of the room. And it, was in fact, a steel star, with each of its points holding some type of torture mechanism. The first point held vials filled with liquids of all colors. The second point held scissors and knives. The third point held all shapes and sizes of needles. The last two points had leather straps, that strapped your arms and legs onto the steel star. The last mechanism was located above star. It was a movable metal arm that held electricity. This was the worst. Out of all of the points this was definitely the worst. It had a shape of a whisk but it had a hollow needle at the end.

I don't even want to explain what they were all used of these for.

The room was dark, almost pitch black. but since I basically live in the dark, it was easy for me to see the blood stains that littered the concrete floor. The sight of it made any normal person lose their lunch.

I was brought out of my thoughts by The Master.

"Tie her up." The sinful words were spoken. Now it's official. I'm going to get another beating.

"Listen up Kayla. And listen well." The Master spoke.

I guessed that Kayla was the blue eyed girl.

"I'm going to show you what happens if you disrespect me again. Now watch carefully."

A guard approached me and roughly pushed me towards the steel star. Then tied down my hands and legs so I was facing the ceiling.

My heart raced a thousand times a second. I was going to die. Maybe not on this star but the after effects were going to kill me. I have no strength left from yesterday. This was it. I was going to die.

I had hoped that I would at least get to see the sun again. It was my dream to see it. Now I'm going to die on this filthy, blood covered, star.

I heard The Master walk closer and he started up the star.

The Master grabbed the metal arm that held the electricity.

Oh no. He was using that first? Well, maybe I'll die faster. I'll be in pain for less time. That's good, right?

He shoved the needle into my skin just below where my neck meets my body.

The whisk spun as blue light entered me. It was almost unbearable. The pain ran through my body. It was so hard to hold back my tears, but I knew that I had to. The more I cried the longer I was here.

The steel star was loud, but I could hear cries come from Kayla. I couldn't make out what she was saying.

After what seemed like centuries, the spinning stopped and it felt like I could breath again. well, kind of.

The Master unstrapped me and pulled me up by my hair.

"Go back to your cell." The Master ordered while pushing me toward the door.

But my legs just collapsed under me. I couldn't feel my body, much less my legs. The pain was the only thing I could feel. It was a horrible pounding pain.

"Pick her up!" The Master called to the guards.

They picked me up and dragged me through the door and back into the pitch black cellar. They then threw me into the middle of my cell and locked the door shut.

The Master soon came and threw Kayla back into her cell, chains unlocked. He didn't even utter a single word to me as he left. I was waiting for his usual pitiful comments, but they never came.

I didn't even move from my position, and just accept that this is how it's meant to be.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry." I heard Kayla cry.

I didn't even have time to reply as I drifted off to sleep.
