Ready To Run

Chapter 4

I quietly open the door to the board room to see that there is one open chair right in front of me, which happens to be at the back of the room. Everyone else's focus is to the front of the room, so I slip in without notice. I immediately sit in the chair, and quizzically watch my friends "stalling" the meeting, like I had asked. Destiny and Steph are singing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" and dancing around the front of the room, and haven't noticed me yet.

Nick looks at me and laughs. "It's about time! Destiny was trying to pitch some new song ideas to the Director, and dragged Steph into it."

I manage to hold in my laughter, and soon enough the song ends.

"Thank you." Steph says while she and Destiny sit down in their chairs.

"Oh, and you missed about 5 minutes of the Director talking about upcoming events and stuff. Nothing big, it was kinda pre-meeting." Nick adds. I nod, and roll call begins.

"Stupid stranger," I think to myself as I reach into my pocket and hold the piece of paper that he gave me.

"Well, as you all know, Disney is the 'Happiest Place On Earth', and we intend to keep it that way. This meeting is..." The Director starts talking. It's basically the same as every other meeting I've been to, so I zone out a little. Or a lot. I keep wondering who the stranger was, and why he was being so secretive. I can at least read the paper that he gave me, right?

That must be where he wanted to meet me. I guess it couldn't hurt to stop in there amd find out who he really was, right? I don't even have to talk to him... maybe I'll stop in on the way home, if I have time of course. Just in case I need to know who to get a restraining order against or something. Yeah, that's it. This'll probably just keep bugging me until I find out who the stranger was.

"That ends today's meeting. Thank you all for coming, I hope to see you all again next time. Remember- Disney is the happiest place on Earth, let's keep it that way." The Director finishes while everyone statts to stand up. How long was I zoned out? Well I probably didn't miss anything too important.

Nick sticks out his hand to help me up. "She's awake!" He says with a laugh. I look at him with a confused expression, and he laughs again. "It's alright, nobody else noticed. But you had a blank expression the entire meeting, and I even saw you drool a little." He says with a wink.

"Oh my gosh are you serious?" I ask as I feel my face flush.

He nods then opens the door for me. Destiny and Steph catch up to us and begin to walk with us. "Now you can start by telling us why you were so late this morning."

"Oh where do I begin." I say with a sigh.
