CHAPTER 5

As much as I don't want to admit it lunch today was great we drove back to the Precinct we had a conversation about picking up and dropping the kids off at school. He said he wants to do that. I kept them a secret long enough now that he wants to be a father to them I can't do nothing to stop that. I love Malikai and I didn't know that I still did until today when we were at the supermarket. It's true what they say. . .first love is the deepest.

Back in Italy I met someone. His name is Renaldino, he is coming here later this evening. We haven't got to the bedroom level yet, we only kissed a few times. As for the kids they don't like him, but accept that he is what I've choosen and now that Malikia is around he doesn't stand a chance.

"What are you thinking about?" Jermaine said snapping me out of my thoughts

"Remember when I told you I met someone in Italy?"

"How could I forget we argued about since I only wanted you to be with Malik but that was just me being selfish and again I'm sorry."

"That's in the past so let it stay there"

"Okay what about your guy?"

"He's coming this evening"

"Good for you, my advice is that you tell Malik. ...before I do"

Before I can tell him anything he took up a file of his desk and walked away. I sat there and thought about what he said. That isn't going to go down well with Malikai if he heard it from Jermaine. I build up the courage to tell him. Why I'm I even scared he's just Malikai. I knock on his office door until he said come in.

"Hey can I talk to you about something?"

"Sure, have a seat and close the door."

He was writing something, he only made eye contact with me when I first entered.

I did  what he said and then dropped the bomb.

"Malik my boyfriend is coming from Italy this evening" there I said it. Now what?

"And you are telling me this because?"

He still haven't looked at me or stop writing.

"Excuse me?"

He drop the pen then make eye contact.

"I said that has to do with me because?"

"I..I just thought I'd tell you"

"You don't have to tell me your every move Darling, I've had my chance and obviously I ruined it so don't think I'll act the fool because you have a boyfriend" I looked in his eyes and I could see the honesty, which only make me want the man who hurted me the most.

Now that he brought up the past it's about time we focus a little on it.

"Why did you break up with me and why buy the children all that stuff? Buying all that stuff don't means they would like you. That won't fill in for all the years you miss."

"My mother is going to show off our kids to her book group tonight she called a few minutes ago, she wanted money so she can bring them to shop for something to wear tonight."

"Answer my questions"

"Since my mother has the kids until 10 tonight come to my apartment and I'll tell you why I broke up with you. As for the things I bought the kids you already know why."

"If I did I wouldn't ask you" I snapped

His apartment. tonight. alone. Hell no. Then again I really want to know it's something that broke me for years and still is. I have to figure out a plan.
