Master of Death-Aresia's reality

this is just a sad story about a character I've made and a character that I love. Aresia is my own creation so if your confused, that would probably be why. I hope you enjoy this sad and heartbreaking tale.

Aresia's pov:
it had finally happened. my worst nightmare come to life. he was gone. my best friend, the love of my life, my soulmate. gone from this world. and by my own hands. I couldn't control what was happening. all I could do was stand by and watch as my own hands took his life, my Lloyd, from this world.
~flashback~
"give her back to me!"

my voice, but not my voice, repsoned. it sounded very disoriented and wrong, but I couldn't do anything about it.

"or what? the only way to break my hold over her is to kill her."

"Aresia. I know you can hear me. try and fight him!"

I wanted to say "I'm trying Lloyd, but his hold is too strong" but nothing came out.

"you've lost, green ninja. and now, you'll watch as the world burns."
~end of flashback~

I wacthced as the life slowly left Lloyd's eyes. and, I don't know what happened, maybe it was the weight of the reality was too much for him to bear, but his hold broke. but not before Lloyd passed out due to the fact that my hands were around his neck.

"no!!!"

Lloyd's body collapsed, his fate to fall to the ground below. but I caught him before he fell and dragged him to safety.

"no, please no. what have I done??"

I was horrified with myself.

~flashback~
Lloyd was trying his best to stop me without putting me in harm's way. however, he was failing, and he knew that. he lost his footing and fell. before he could react and get back up, me but not me picked him up by the neck and held him over the edge of the building's roof we were fighting on.

"like I said, green ninja, you lost."

Lloyd struggled for enough breath.

"you haven't won yet, overlord. you don't know the girl you have possessed like I do. she is a fighter. she'll beat you without you knowing it."

the overlord just laughed.

"no one can beat me. not even the first spinjitzu master."
~end of flashback~

I craddled my lover's unconscious form, not knowing the tears that came. I jerked when I felt a soft hand caress my face.

"L-lloyd!"

my fiance weakly smiled back at me.

"I knew you (cough) could (cough) b-beat him."

"how did you have to much faith?"

"because (cough cough) youre my best friend, my soulmate, my future. (cough) I wouldn't let anything, not even the overlord, come between us."

he smiled, but then started to cough of blood. it wasn't until then did I realized the number of wounds he had taken and the amount of blood he has lost.

"hang in there Lloyd. I can get help."

I started to get up, but his hand held fast.

"Kitten, you and I both know that nothing can be done."

fresh tears started to spill down my face.

"no, you're wrong. we can fix this. I have to fix this."

I was sobbing so hard, I started to hyperventilate. Lloyd quietly shushed me.

"it's okay, kitten. I've lived a good life. you've been there every step of the way. please don't cry."

"I'll try."

"will you sing for me?"

"what song?"

"our song."

~flashback~
Lloyd had pushed me down a hill laughing. and so I pulled him with my power and he soon joined me. we were so happy, just laying in the grass on that sunny day. I looked at Lloyd with love in my eyes.

"you are my Sunshine."

Lloyd smiled at me, singing the rest of the chorus.
~end of flashback~

from that day on, my nickname for lloyd was sunshine.

"You are my sunshine."

"my only sunshine."

I smiled, Lloyd always wanted to sing with me when this song came on.

"You make me happy when skies are gray."

"You'll never know dear, how much I love you."

"Please don't take my sunshine away."

Lloyd's breath was slowing down. so much so that you could barely see the rise and fall of his chest. I cried even harder, but continued with the song.

"In all my dreams, dear, you seem to leave me. When I awake my poor heart pains."

Lloyd looked at me one last time. I almost stopped singing when I saw the looked in his eyes. he held so much love for me that I didn't even know how he could love that much.

"So when you come back and make me happy.
I'll forgive you dear, I'll take all the blame."

Lloyd's eyes closed for the last time. taking his life away from mine.

"no!!! Lloyd! it wasn't supposed to happen like this. we were going to get married! please, you can't leave me here alone."

I was sobbing a river. I didn't care who all saw me that day. that day, I lost the most important person in my life.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away."

Lloyd, my best friend, my fiance, my soulmate, my sunshine, was gone. I looked at the destruction I had caused. everything was either on fire or scorched. I finally realized what I was the master of. it wasn't over all the elements. no. this destiny is one far worse. I was the master of death.
