Jedi Knight Iolande Warrior Part 4

"What do you mean, iolande?"

"I did a scan of the planet and nothing out of the ordinary showed up. But when I ran an algorithm that correlates to the Death Watch frequency, I found something that was a bit alarming."

"What did you find?"

"I found a large Death Watch base. Deep under ground. And it seems like they are planning a massive invasion of some sort."

"We have to tell the council about this."

"With all due respect, Master Kenobi, I think we ought to rescue the Duchess first."

"Of course, but we have no idea where they are."

"Actually, we do. Admiral Kane is keeping an updated bio scan of other life forms on this planet and the target has stopped moving. If we leave now, we could catch up to then before they started moving again."

"Let's get going."

They mounted their speeders and took off in the direction of the rogue clone trooper. After an hour and a half, they found the very edge of the underground facility.

"Jax, send your best troopers to scout the area."

"With all due respect, Master Kenobi, my command is under General Warrior."

"Very well. Iolande..."

"Jax, I want you to scout out the perimeter with some of your best men without setting off any alarms that gives any idea to Death Watch that we're here. The rest of us will contact the Serenity for an outline of the facility."

When Jax and a few of his men left to scout the perimeter, Master Kenobi turned to iolande.

"The Serenity?"

"Yes Master Kenobi. The Serenity is my ship."

"A wise chose. How did you come about that name?"

"It was going to be the name of Jedi Knight Andorra's ship. But he never got his ship and being out in space calms me for some reason. Like it was my calling to fly beyond the atmosphere of any planet."

"I am very surprised. You are wise beyond you're age. Some masters don't even have the wisdom and mindset that you have displayed throughout your service of the Jedi council."

"I try my best, Master Kenobi."

"Indeed. Tell me, what do we know about this rogue trooper that took the Duchess?"

"The best that I can make out of it, the rogue clone trooper did it out of resentment of young Jedi commanders, like me. I don't know if I am worthy of the title Jedi Knight, I blew my first mission and now the Duchess of Mandalore is a hostage."

"Iolande, you are blaming yourself for something that isn't your fault."

"But if someone else had been assigned to this mission, the Duchess Satine would be safe on Corusant."

"Maybe, or maybe this trooper would have kidnapped the Duchess anyways. We can never know what might have happened. But let me say this. I have worked with many other Jedi Knights and Jedi masters, and though they may be older than you, age doesn't always equal wisdom."

"What do you mean?"

"Im saying, that if someone else was assigned to this mission, they might not have known about the death watch facility on the planet. They may have fallen into a dangerous trap."

"I guess you're right. I just can't help but feel responsible for letting the Duchess get captured."

"General, we have found an entrance into the facility. We are waiting for your orders."

"Ready to finish what you started?"

Iolande closed her eyes for a second.

"I'm going to bring the Duchess to safety."
