Jedi Knight Iolande Warrior Part 3

The Serenity dropped out of hyperspace what seemed like only moments after they just entered.

"Is something the matter, admiral?"

"I don't understand it General. It seems as through we have had an engine failure."

"How can that be possible? We had the entire ship be checked before we left the Mandalorian atmosphere, right?"

"We did, General. And yet, something seems to have happened to the engines."

"Very well. I'll check the engine room. Meanwhile, see if you can reroute some power to the engines?"

"Sir yes sir."

"Jax, with me."

iolande made her way to the duchess's courters. "Duchess, please forgive the intrusion. But we have experienced some engine malfunction. Please accept my most humble apology."

"No need to apologize, Master Jedi. The situation is understandable."

Iolande and Jax left the Duchess alone in her quaters. They were about to enter the turbo lift, when they heard a scream and a gun shot coming from the Duchess's room. They hurried to the door but it wouldn't open. Iolande forced the door open with the force. Inside, they found a clone trooper with a gun pointed to the Duchess's head.

as calmly as possible, Jax commanded, "Trooper, stand down."

"I can't do that sir. I have to follow orders."

getting a bit antsy about the whole situation, iolande said, "Your orders are to stand down soldier."

"I'm sorry General. I only take orders from people I respect. And you, well, let's just say you're below standards."

"Master Jedi, please, help me."

"Quiet Duchess. My employer would prefer you alive, but he won't care. So if you cared anything about your life, you'll be quiet."

"Why are you doing this?"

"I have no respect for Jedi knights your age and stature. And I have been offered more credits than you could possibly imagine if I bring the Duchess of Mandalore in chains."

"You work with the Death Watch."

"Perhaps."

"I'm giving you one chance, trooper. Leave the Duchess alone, and I will show you mercy," iolande trying to negotiate.

"There is no mercy under the Jedi command. All me and my brothers do is do your dirty work so you don't have too."

"Then you leave me with no choice."

"Very well."

Before either iolande or Jax could react, the trooper blew a bomb right in front of them, sending them flying backwards. The trooper escaped to the lower levels were the escape pods where located. Iolande was up on her feet when a clone platoon arrived on the scene.

"What happened here, general?"

"A betrayal to the republic, that's what. I want you to track any escape pods that leave the ship."

"Sir yes sir."

"I need to contact the council about this."

(Over hologram) "What do you mean the Duchess has been taken?"

"There seems to have been a traitor in our midst, master windu. And he has taken the Duchess of Mandalore hostage and has escaped in an escape pod to the planet below. What does the council recommend for action against this plot?"
