"well, I don't believe it. Saw gerrera."

"iolande."

"it has been a while since the last time we were in the same room."

"indeed it has master Jedi."

"what kind of trouble have you gotten into this time?"

"what do you mean?"

"you would not have gone through all the trouble to contact and meet me in a remote location if you weren't in trouble. trouble you cant get out of by yourself."

saw sighed.

"alright. I'll be honest with you. my crew took a heavy hit when we went toe to toe with the patrol team around Tipothia. we could really use your help."

"and what would you have me do?"

"we had Intel that the empire was transferring precious cargo that we could use. we intended to sneak about and take it, but they called in reenforcement before we could even get near the cargo."

"I will have to contact the other commanders."

"what? can you not make decisions for yourself?"

Saw immediately saw iolande stiffen. iolande slowly turned around.

"it is not because I can't make my own decisions. it is because my decisions would affect the bigger plan and rebellion that I am part of."

he scoffed

"rebellion. your 'rebellion' does nothing but play cat and mouse with the empire patrol teams around the system."

"we are in it for the longer game, gerrera. we don't go into fights blasters randomly firing at anything that moves."

"everything that I have done has been successful."

"really?"

"yes, I get results that I can use to further my strategy agaisnt the downfall of the empire."

"tell me, gerrera, these results come from torturing your prisoners until there are physically and mentally unable to respond. you do everything without considering the effects of your actions."

"I do what it takes to win."

"you do it in an immoral way. don't think I turn a blind eye to your operations. I am aware of your methods. and I do not agree with them."

"you and your soft Jedi ways. no wonder you lost the war against the sepertists."

"the war was never won. neither side secured a solid victory against the other. my fellow Jedi were betrayed by the poeple we were trying to protect. my ways are not soft. we were peacemakers, not warriors. we only got involved because the war was prolonged longer than what the republic originally thought."

"your ways wont let you see everything that needs to be done. I would know. I lost everything. my planet, my family, my people. it wasn't until I lost everything did I truly see the ways to win this war."

"you want to talk about lost? I lost my people, my fellow Jedi, my padowan, my master, my best friend. I lost my family. I was barred from returning to my planet because I am a plague unto my own kind. I lost my commanding officer that has been with me through thick and thin. I lost my order, my status. I have been branded as a criminal, traitor, outcast. I have every right to go do whatever I want to destroy the empire, because they took everyone from me. but they also gave me a new family. a family that I am dedicated to protect. and that is what I plan to do. but fighting the way you fight, is not the way we win this war."

"it is the most efficient way."

"it may, but is it the right way?"

gerrera said nothing. he simply got up and returned to his own ship. iolande sighed. she want to her cockpit to watch him leave.

"I did not mean to anger you, saw. that is the last thing I wanted to do. but I am still a Jedi. and your way does not act in accordance with mine. your ways are too rash and uncaring. I'm sorry."

"so am I."
