It was Thursday, October 12th and it was minutes before I had to wake up for prison. Joking, I had to get up for school and I was struggling to even get myself up until I heard my moms' footsteps get closer. I got up quickly to my closet and then my mom opened the door and saw me picking out what to wear. I figured she knew I just got up, randomly looking at my closet since I always wear hoodies to school, why would I even pick regular clothes for school, it's not for a party. I looked like a sack of potatoes wearing hoodies. She spoke to me and said "Don't be late for once ok? and stop sleeping late, love you." She closed the door afterwards. After I brushed my teeth, I went and ate breakfast. My younger sister Bella sat down next to me as always but she didn't talk to me or anything. She looked nervous so I asked what was wrong. She finally spoke moments later and stated, "I have a bad feeling about today Amy". Oh, and yeah, my name is Amy. I replied to my sister, "Why what do you mean?". But she ignored me and continued to eat her cereal, lucky charms. My mom walked in and she looked more stressed than yesterday. "Amy make sure to take Bella to school today, the bus driver is running very late ok? I have to go, bye girls". My mom said, then She kissed Bella's forehead and left. When we finally finished breakfast, I went straight to the garage and got in my car on my way with Bella to take her to school. I arrived 10 minutes later and Bella hugged me instead of saying bye. She never did that since she was 2. I love her and she loves me but she has never hugged me in awhile and it was a very long hug. It was shocking to me but I hugged her back. I drove myself to school and I wasn't having it. I had to finish making copies of posters for the Halloween dance tomorrow. I finally arrived and I saw my friends, Jake and Alex. "Amy, did you hear the news". Alex said. I said, "no, who even sees the news these days. Jake then replied to me saying; "there's going to be a big storm tomorrow and they might cancel school." I was very confused so I said, "What do you mean big storm?! It's just rain." Then Alex stated, "um hello we live in Florida, it could be a hurricane." I replied and said "Look this Halloween dance, I have worked on helping for awhile and we can't miss it, it's our final year!." They both looked at each other and didn't care much. I did not believe them about the news saying some possible storm that is big, but later on, I wish I listened.
As I entered the school building with my friends, I  overheard people starting to chat about the storm that i thought was a hoax. "Guys, I just heard some people talk about the news". Amy said. "See Amy, and you thought people these days don't see or talk about the news." Alex said. I replied to her, "The news is always almost incorrect about the weather, ok, but I got to go to class before the principal gets me detention again." I hugged my friends and then continued to walk. I entered the classroom. Then the bell rings and the teacher is not present. Amy talked to her close friend. "She's not here? What a bummer, I needed her help with homework". Her friend shakes her head and then takes a nap. The class was quieter than usual, I assumed why but I was upset the teacher isn't here, she's my favorite out of all but the substitute teacher was really nice and chill. The students were pretty much on their phones and I didn't really like going on my phone, no teenager would ever say that but I had to because I don't have many friends as some moved to school and others were pretty much fake to me and phones are just screens with fake pictures on Facebook to Facetunes on Instagram whatever. As time moved on, I was starting to fall asleep but out of nowhere, the school lost its power. Of course the ghetto girls screams. I thought at first it was just our classroom that lost its power but then the speaker turns on. The principal started to explain what was going on. "Hello everyone, we are aware of the electricity not working and we are working our very best to fix it, please be patient, thank you". Everyone pretty much didn't care as long as they don't do work at the moment, but me I was thinking about getting my grades higher than a 75 since I failed my tests. It was almost time to go to the next class but the principle would not let us leave because the power was still out. It would make sense since schools these days uses smart-boards, it's useless. Now the next moment I'm about to say is shocking but then an earthquake erupted. Pretty normal in a lot of states but this was no ordinary earthquake, people scream and some look outside and streets breaking apart, couple of trees slowly fall apart. I've never been so scared in my life. But then I realized, my little sister told me she didn't like the feeling of today. I was sure it was a coincidence but yet again, I thought wrong. "Everyone under the desks", the teacher said. Then, the floor starts to break apart, making big deep cracks. I felt like I was in the movie "2012", but it felt more realistic. Another crazy thing is that it wasn't even Friday the 13th. We were on the first floor of the school building which was safer than the top floors, a lot of students left the class but some stayed. Sadly, I had to witness a student die, he fell through the big crack on the floor and it was deep like the ocean. I left the class like everyone else finally. As I went out of the class, many students panicked, others leaving the building which is a bad idea because the streets can be cracked and other buildings can collapse. I spotted one of my friends, Alex, who was taking cover when the ceiling tiles started to fall apart. Alex sees me as I run towards her. "Amy! We need to get out of here!". Alex said while her eyes are covered in tears. "No! Its just as unsafe out there than in here as well. The trees or buildings can fall and kill us" I said. "Amy, I'm really worried about my family right now, I hope they're safe." Alex said. I replied to her, "I know me too, we should wait here like a smart person would do." I said. We both hugged each other under a random table in the hallway. Finally, after 13 minutes pass by, the earthquake stopped. It felt longer but then It gets quiet in the halls, students walking slowly very worried, others injured. Then, the principle speaks on the speaker. "Testing testing, 1,2,3. If anyone can hear me, I would like to announce that school is over for the day, please stay safe, that is all." "What a relief, text me when you get home safely Amy, love you." Alex said. I told her the same thing and hugged her. I walked out of school and the building was messed up, broken windows and a lot of bricks fell out. I was going to call my mom for her to pick me up but i saw her car and she was already here looking so worried. When I hopped in the car. "Are you ok!?" she said. I nodded; I had no words for what kind of earthquake that was to experience in Florida. "That was intense, never seen anything like it, but your stepfather is on his way home and I have to pick up Bella." my mother said. She tuned in the radio stations and it wasn't working. The day couldn't get any worse. We arrived at my sister's school and she saw us and ran towards us. "Mommy sissy, I'm scared! I thought it was the end of us" Bella said. "It's ok sweetie, it's over." my mom said. "I told you Amy something was going to happen today.'' Bella said. My mother was concerned and told what was going on. Bella told my mom that she had a feeling something bad was going to happen today. Keep in mind, Bella is 6 and I was concerned, Can she see the future?
It was 5 o'clock and my mother just finished making dinner, spaghetti with meatballs. I turned on the television. The news was reporting about the crazy earthquake earlier. "It was a very particular earthquake never seen before, scientists may warn for something worse to come, we'll be back after the break for more information." The newswoman said. I have never been so scared, yet confused about what is happening. I also realized; my step dad wasn't home. He usually comes home at 4 o'clock but it was 5:57pm. I didn't want to be too worried but what was going on today, I should be. My sister was eating slowly, looking sad and worried while my mother just received a phone call. "Hello? yes I'm his wife. Wait what! You must be joking. Ok, bye." my mom hanged up, she started to tear up, closing her eyes. She took a deep breath and spoke to us. She tried her hardest to not cry. "Girls, your stepdad is, sadly not coming home, he didn't make it out of the building during the big earthquake". My heart dropped to the ground. My sister ran to her room. Things were happening too fast. "It can't be, please mom." I said. "Sweetie, I can't make this up. I know he wasn't your real father but I would see you always smiling around him, your real father will always be looking at you in heaven, and so is your stepdad." My mother said with a little sad voice. My mom went to Bella's room to comfort her. I went to my room and took a nap. An hour later, a huge explosion heard very far from my house. I woke up with my heart beating so fast. I walk out my room and see my mom and sister outside. I went out as well and saw what was happening. We were confused, until a meteor was coming close. It looked huge but wasn't big enough to destroy the world. We screamed and went back inside the house. Then another explosion can be heard, very close. "Girls, we have to pack up and go to a shelter. My friend from my job gave me directions, hurry up." My mother said. We were ready to go 10 minutes later; my mom was in the car waiting. As we got in, the final meteor was heading our way. My mom drove fast, people outside were either panicking or packing up like us. I felt so bad for everyone out there, I didn't even realize it wasn't just Florida getting earthquakes and who knows what else. A few minutes flew by and we arrived at the shelter, of course there were many people getting in. The security guards were walking towards us and my sister was getting nervous, which is unnecessary since we were not hiding anything bad. "I'm sorry ladies but we're full we can't let more people in, please find the other shelters, thank you." The security man said. My mom sighed and we went back in the car. Almost 20 minutes later, we finally arrived at another shelter and were relieved we were the last people to be in before they dont let anyone else inside. It was crowded but wasn't too bad as it was a big room, almost the size of Walmart with decent beds and food. The lady that works at the shelter had spoken to everyone with a megaphone. "Hello everyone, I hope you all feel safe and not too worried about what's going on right now and please dont panic as to what I'm about to say. The news and radio just stated that the only possible reason why there are disasters in one day is because there is a chance of having the end of the world." Everyone freaks out and the lady yells to remain calm. I couldn't believe what was happening, i couldn't believe what she said. The only thing I can think of in my mind is, we all are gonna die. I didn't want to die at a young age, especially my sister. I just hope we make it to heaven. It was 11pm, people were asleep, some couldn't even go to sleep and as of me i couldn't either. My mom and sister were sleeping together. I was gonna cry since it may be our last time together, cherish the moments we've had or have now. but I held back until it was the end. I went on my phone to finish charging, surprisingly the power was still on after the disasters, but i didn't want to be happy about it since it's gonna turn off eventually and it didn't matter anyways. I went to youtube to see the news and all it showed was many storms and disasters, a big tsunami heading towards japan and many more. A Lot of Videos were trending as well. Other disasters showed the other side of the United States like california that was getting bigger earthquakes, way worse than the one that happened here. I turned off my phone, I decided not to see any more videos that can get me more anxious than I already am. But it was too late. I forgot we live right by the ocean, the waves are coming soon. It was finally morning, we were still alive, but just as I suspected, the man in the radio mentioned a flood coming our way next after a big wave just hit miami. I had never been so nervous and my hands were shaking. The woman told us to remain calm, the shelter shouldn't be destroyed by the flood, temporary sadly. We all waited nervously, then we heard people screaming outside. Outside people ran, a couple of people fell, some standing there full of fear waiting to be killed. The wave washes everyone up, many houses flooded. The wave gets closer, my little sister hugs me when we hear water hitting buildings, very powerful. After a minute passes by, it gets quiet. "Ok guys, thanks for remaining calm, as you can see there's a little leak right by the entrance, we should be fine for a couple of dAYS but we have to leave soon, my friend just finished talking on the phone and a helicopter is on its way to save us." The woman  said. Keep in mind, there were 40 people. Only women and children can go first, that was the rule. 3 girls, 4 boys, 24 men and the rest were women, which is 8. Of course we would not all fit. I hoped we all could make it on time but after the helicopter arrived,  the doors were very close to break from the pressure of water. All the women and children boarded in, I was the last to get in. "You all are safe now, don't worry." The military man said. I was relieved, but then the doors bursted through and water started to rise up, everyone screamed, Some tried to exit but the water was still coming through. I couldn't help but to look. I felt bad, everyone started drowning, but sadly it was mostly men. During the helicopter ride, everything on the ground was flooded, a lot of areas didn't have any roads, big holes were on the ground, everything was gone. I finally saw the meteors deep in the ground, truly frightened to even see it in earth and not outer space. After an hour, we landed in canada. Canada was pretty much still in good shape, no big floods, nothing but some cracks. Everyone had dry tears, I exited the helicopter. A man was sweet enough to take me and my mom and sister to safety. "You think it's over mom?" I said. "I'm gonna pray it is. She responded. Then the man said, "We just got a message on the radio saying it's all over surprisingly!". I had the biggest smile, my sister hugged my mom and I joined in. Everyone screams in joy. "So what happens now?" my mom said to the Canadian man. "Well You guys can live here for a while, a lot of countries and states are almost wiped away, who knows when you guys can go back home and I hope there's more survivors out there but anyways you are welcome to live with me". He said. "Mommy, i like him, can he be our dad? '' my sister said. And oh boy I wasn't trying to be disrespectful to laugh. My mom had smiled but said no.
5 years later, to this day, i'm writing this not too short book. I can't believe the world is still standing and I've never been so grateful. I finished college last year, my sister is 11 in 5th grade, my mother is single but she has never been more happy and free. I just hope my dads are in heaven looking out for us. Thank you for reading my frightening experience of the end of the world, which I thought it would be my Final View.
