Rewritten - an alternate ending

Part 6 - The plan

There was a distorted cry from behind Mike as the mind flayer stumbled back "Mike! Watch out" Nancy shouted, reloading her gun. Mike picked El up and ran to Nancy, with Lucas and Will in front. 'Shit! I forgot about that!' Lucas yelled, running for his life. They reached Nancy and the others "we need a plan" Will said. 'We need to get out of here somehow, and trap the mind flayer here. And Billy. Then, we wait until the others turn off that machine, closing the gate and hopefully killing that thing.' Jonathan suggested. "Max and I will go to the upper floor of the mall and distract the mind flayer. In the meantime, you guys find another exit that Billy won't see us go through. Someone will need to get a car ready and figure out a hidden route for us to take. Hopefully, we won't be seen and we can get to that guy's house like we were supposed to do in the first place. The mind flayer won't know where to find us and we will all be safe if everything goes according to plan' Lucas said, glancing at max for her approval. She nodded. They decided on who would do what and then all headed to their places. Lucas and Max carefully walked around the mind flayer, making sure not to be seen.. or heard. 'When you need us to distract it, let us know' He said, waving a walkie talkie in the air. They managed to find a working one on the floor from the Russians.
Nancy and Jonathan went to look for an exit. Steve, Robin, Will and Mike were going to wait in Scoops Ahoy, hidden from Billy and the mind flayer.

"Come on Mike, we gotta get away from this thing" Will said, walking over to his friend. Mike looked up at him with teary eyes and nodded. He looked back down at El in his arms and sighed. Mike stood up and they signaled to Lucas that he needed to distract the mind flayer. 'So how are we gonna distract this thing' Max asked. "Huh... I didn't think you guys would actually go with my plan so I didn't really think of the details... I guess we just grab stuff to throw at it?" Lucas answered. 'Ok. Let's go to the stairs and get up to the second floor... shit.' The mind flayer was blocking all ways to get up to the next floor. "I guess we're just gonna have to stay on this floor" 'Are you joking? That thing could kill us in one hit and you want to stand right next to it while it's angry?' Lucas noticed Max was scared.. terrified. Her eyes were watering, but she tried to hide her fear "Don't worry, we're gonna be ok" 'A- Are you sure? This just seems a bit... risky. And.. I.. I don't know if this is a good idea. Isn't there a... safer.. way to do this?' "Hey, Max, don't worry. I know you're scared and.. that's ok. Whatever happens, we go through it together." Max sighed 'I love you, stalker' "I love you too Madmax".

Another part done! I wanted to put a little bit more focus on Lumax for this part becuase honestly I think it's an underrated ship. I hope I'm doing ok with the romantic stuff becuase I'm absolutely terrible at that sort of thing. See yall tomorrow!
