"Your eyes... they're not Sharingan, are they?" Orochimaru looked genuinely befuddled. His amused smirk was no longer on his face, rather he supported a confused expression. I suppose that there could be confusion, both Dojutsu glowing red and all, and the fact that there’s a black design in it... it could look like a Mangekyō Sharingan.

I stayed silent, as any information at all could be fatal in the face of the enemy. Golden trails lingered in only few places on the man, meaning that there were only five attacks that I could use that would prove useful. I focused on one of them, using my state of elevated cognition to my advantage.

The brightest gold showed a shadow of myself stepping forwards with my left foot, twisting my body only slightly, while throwing ten senbon at the same time. One went for his neck, and the others surrounded him on all angles.

The senbon on his neck hit, and I decided that this would be the best course of action.

I allowed my left foot to kick forwards, landing harshly on the dirt floor, which crunched and cracked underneath my feet. Ten senbon fell in my hands after I swiftly grabbed them from my pouch, and I made sure to nick one of the senbon with a special packet of poison that I kept in my pouch. Using my left foot to swing my body forwards, I twisted only slightly, casting the senbon at the exact same points that I had in my vision.

The needles followed along the trails perfectly, but then-

Orochimaru was gone.

The golden lines wavered and broke, and my eyes widened.

Never before had this happened! When using this Dojutsu, I always hit my target no matter how crazy it seemed whether it be a pesky fruitfly in my room or a Jounin level ninja such as Kakashi. In fact, to ensure that the senbon would hit fast and hard, I incorporated chakra into them. Everything would have been perfect... but the needles merely hit that... moving tree behind him.

My eyebrows furrowed as my eyes narrowed.

Everything was glowing with chakra, nearly blinding me. I blinked and rubbed my eyes a few times, looking around to check if the Snake Sannin was watching, which he wasn't. 'But I can still sense him... how?' That "moving tree" was in fact not moving, but was pulsing with chakra. Suddenly, a knife went through my gut.

'But- how?!' My eyes widened considerably, and I felt a sharp pain from my abdomen-

Two millimeters off from where I was hit.

Genjutsu.

"Kai!" I yelled, chakra dispersing from around me. Orochimaru hadn't moved at all, instead favoring watching me struggle from inside of my mind. I blankly stared at him, head tilting to the side.

The golden lines were still there.

Once more, I stepped forwards with my left foot, twisted, and sent a poisoned and chakra covered senbon at the man.

It hit.

A burst of red light flashed from his jugular, and I saw the light-show flash with hints of black erupt from him. But then, with a burst of bright blue chakra swirling in him, he was gone from my vision. I reeled back, knowing that my victory wasn't to be until the poison finally kicked in, setting up a different Taijutsu stance I've only ever seen Sasuke and a handful of others(all Uchiha) use.
