Mitchi's POV

Two weeks passed and I was getting ready for a gala that the governor was hosting at a ballroom in a beachside hotel. "Steve, I don't know if this is the right dress for a gala," I stated as I looked at myself in the mirror. "Are you sure it isn't too much?"

"You look beautiful, babe," Steve hugged me from behind

"You look beautiful, babe," Steve hugged me from behind. "I promise you that you will be the most beautiful woman there."

"Thanks for that," I smiled.

"Come on," Steve replied. "We gotta get going."

"Yeah," I nodded. We walked downstairs and Tani agreed to take the night off to watch Kala while we were at the gala. "Are you sure you don't want to go to this gala, Tani?"

"It's fine," Tani smiled. "It's not really my scene anyways."

"Mommy's a princess?" Kala asked as she walked up to me.

"I'm not a princess," I smiled as I picked her up. "You're the princess."

"If I'm a princess, what does that make Mommy?" Kala asked.

"It means Mommy's the queen," Steve replied. I put Kala down. "We gotta get going. I love you, Kala."

"I love you too," Kala stated.

"Be careful out there," Tani replied as we walked out the front door.

"I can't wait till we're legally married," I smiled. "Then we can be a family and you can officially adopt Kala." We got to the gala and we walked inside. They had Anthem Lights as their band for the night. "Hey, those are my friends."

"That's nice, babe," Steve smiled.

"Good evening, everyone," the governor got on the stage. "The band is going to take a break for a little bit, so we're going to have a playlist going."

"I'm going to go see them," I nodded. "Come with me." I pulled Steve along with me backstage to the boys' room. I knocked and the door opened. "Hey guys."

"Michelle," Alan stated. "Come in." He let Steve and I in. "What are you doing in Hawaii?"

"I live here and work here now, with my fiance," I smiled.

"You work here?" Alan asked. "Like the hotel?"

"No, Alan," I nodded. "I work at Five-O."

"Little Michelle Kay is a cop," Chad replied. "I didn't see that coming."

"Guys, I go by Mitchi now," I replied. "Besides, I have a seven year old daughter."

"She has a kid," Spencer stated. "Lots of new surprises."

"Your fiance actually had a request for us to sing this for you," Joey smiled as he grabbed his guitar. "You guys wanna take a seat?"

"Yeah," Steve replied. We took a seat on the couch. "This is a private song just for you."
