Waiting

I sat in the car by myself just waiting.

I never really had any relationship with my family. I was only close to my sister. She taught me some things, like how to drive just in case. I'm glad it's just me and her because I don't think I could handle listening to my parents and brother all day about this apocalypse.

It's been a while since Jen left. Is she okay? Probably. She is tough.

I hear something coming from outside. I look around. Shit. A huge herd of walkers are coming towards the car and store. Where is Jen? I should go get her before this herd comes. I open my door slowly trying not to get attention from the walkers. I feel something grab my leg. It was the walker on the ground! I tried to not scream but it was a natural reaction. I was shaking my leg and trying to reach for the knife in the back seat. The herd of walkers had notice by now and were heading towards me. I kicked my leg in fear of being bit. Forget the knife. I slam the door a bunch of times on the walkers hand. The hand was breaking more and more until eventually the hand broke off and the door was closed. The walker hand laid on the car floor. I stare at it. I'm so shocked and I don't know what to do or how to move.

The car is shaking and I get startled by a walker in the window. There are dozens of walkers surrounding the car. Jen! Is she still in the store? Is she alive? Questions run through my head. Maybe she is okay and is thinking of a plan. I'm just going to sit here and wait.

Hours went by. The walkers finally gave up and left. Jen hasn't come out.

I'm starving. I look through our bags which we have a lot of. We stock up. We have bags full of ammo, weapons, food, clothes, and medicine. We don't have much medicine, which is why we were here. I find a granola bar and eat it.

I waited some more.
