IT'S THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL AND WE ARE ALL PREPARING FOR IT.
Charles barges in while we are preparing for school. He is bringing with him Max, his chao chao, a very cute puffy dog. I love Max so much. He is also part of the family."Hey," Laureen shoots in going to Max. She really loves Max that much. There was even a time when Laureen cried just because Max had a scar. I don't know but Laureen is much more like a cry baby than me, much less than Jack.
"Hey Max!" I greeted.
Laureen is now carrying Max towards the living room.
"Hi Margie. You're early today huh," Charles teases.
"Well, I need to prepare a little early than I was used to. Otherwise, Mr. Parker or Mr. Parkinson will ring the telephone again," I answered.
"You gained weight, Max," I could here Laureen taming Max.
As a girly type, dogs pique Laureen's interest. We once had a dog and we named him Marky, shortening the name of our mother. We played so much before until the dog eventually died. Marky is so bobbly that even I had experienced somewhat depression when he died. Well, Laureen had wasted body H2O because she cried almost every second.
"Margie," Dad calls. He is packing our lunch. He unties his apron after which and hangs it right away. I give him a notice. "You better get yourself ready now," he shrugs. I know he is trying to make me realize that I really am a slow person in all aspects. "Mr. Parker called me. I really did just a while ago and he said you must change your sluggish attitude. You rarely attend flag ceremonies last year. You even sleep in classes. You better change that." Hauling over the cauls again. Ugh!
I never give a response to that. That was kind of offensive knowing that I am not the only person in the house. Bla bla bla! I rolled my eyes and went up.
"What time will you be out today?" Charles suddenly asked. We both are in the backseat while Laureen already took a bus. She is really an early bird. And I, am a late ant. Jack in the front sit is busy with his mobile legends. I could really hear the sounds of the heroes even though he's using his headphones. His ears could really explode at the moment. Well, I'd laugh if that happen. At least, he could no longer interfere with my businesses.
Dad gives a glare over us. "Why? Do the two of you have something to do tonight?" he asks. He is always concerned about me going out during eventide but directly allows Laureen. It is a bit unfair but I think he just knows how irresponsible I am and that, I am always up to some mischief.
"I want to grab a snack in Starbucks with Chris. Mom gave me money earlier after massaging her body. Mr. Cooper, if that would be okay, we can bring Jack with us," Charles tells while leaning on Dad's seat. I know Dad will agree as long as Charles is with us. He considers my best friend our brother after all. He's gonna say yes now. Please!
"No thanks. That's just a waste of time," Jack blabbers. He really is pathetic, always is. If Dad doesn't allow me to go with Charles, I'll surely bury Jack alive.
Dad looks at him for about half a second and looks back straight ahead. "Why, are you busy? I did not know how a 5th grader becomes so busy." Dad, come on! Answer the question first!
Jack does not even say a word. I butted in. "Of course, he's busy with his dates. Dad, you should know this bu-"
I was not able to finish my statement because Jack intervenes. I know he will. "Dad, I will come with them unless I am not yet done with my game. I am still going to win over 3 battles today." He looks at me with an evil look, trying to warn me something.
