FLEXING HIS NEW WATCH, CHARLES GETS INSIDE HEADING TO THE KITCHEN WHERE I AM CURRENTLY EATING PANCAKES.
"Nice watch." I say.
"From girlfriend." He replies. Right. Girlfriend.
"Good morning, Mr...," he must have thought Dad is here.
I scoffed. "Dad isn't here. He's early for the new cashier's first day. You know," with sluggish tone I continue, "start ups."
Charles gets himself a plate and puts some pancakes. Dad cooked some before heading out for work. Before we could do anything, he also listed some 'what to do' works for this day in the refrigerator.
"The honey's inside the ref. Get some for yourself," I pointed the ref and continued eating.
"Wait, I really want to ask you about someone. You know, for Laureen's date."
That made him sit first. "Who is it? You're being so serious with that, huh."
"You know Edward Stevenson right? The hot guy from the music department?"
"Umm I think he's familiar. I am not sure. Why? Is he interested in Laureen?"
"I guess?"
"That's what you need to figure out first. I'll be helping you if you are already certain about it."
I nod. He went to get himself the honey.
Guess Charles noticed the list, "You sure you can head out for the concert?" He reaches the honey and puts it on the table. "Seems like Mr. Brook doesn't want you all out."
A smirk crossed his face. "Why? Are you praying for me not to go? You got some plans with Jennifer again? We planned it beforehand so you must go with me. It was even planned before you got together." I rolled my eyes and put the dishes on the sink.
"Why? What if we got some? What will you do? Pull me away from her?" He asks bossily.
Does he really think I am that kind of person? "What the hell are you talking about? Of course, I won't. I just think that we were so sure when we planned it and now you seem uncertain about it." I ask while leaning on the sink wall.
"Are you guys fighting?" Jack butts in while on his phone. "Stop it before I kick the both of you outta here. It's freaking noisy."
"No Jack. Someone just acts unreasonable lately. I thought she wants to make me happy." Charles, after finishing the pancakes, put it on the sink and went away.
"Wait what? I did not... Fine. Go home." I say and sigh heavily. I did not even say that I will do rude things to Jennifer. Charles changed. He even can hold grudges to me now. How rude of you, Charles. I feel like crying but I am trying to hold it. I don't want to be embarrassed knowing that the bully king is here.
"I heard everything, Chris. It's normal for boys to get more excited with girlfriends than with mere friends like you. There's a difference. Stop asking him to always stick himself around you. It's not like you own him," Jack says in a serious monotone.
I washed the dishes and acted like I never heard it from my little brother. "Wanna go with me tonight?" I say to Jack facing his back on him.
I looked back but I guess he did not hear my offer. I see no one around. While going down with messy bun, I saw Laureen coming near me. "Did you and Charles fight? I heard it from Jack."
