Allison’s POV
“Ouch!” I scream holding my head.
I just woke up and I had a bad head ache. Zach sits up and pulls me into a hug. He rubs my back and comforts me.
“I am going to go get you food. Okay?” he says with his tired morning voice.
“Eggs, waffles, coffee, ketchup, and Nutella?” I whisper quietly.
“And hash browns.” Zach and I say at the same time. I smile at him and he kisses my forehead. I sit in the bed with my white blanket wrapped around my body. I watch Zach walk out of the room.
I get up slowly then have a sharp pain travel through my body that causes me to collapse. I struggle to get back up, using the bed as a support. I trudge to the bathroom and wash my face. I look up and see my reflection. I immediately look away seeing myself on the other side. Everything started to get blurry. I try to widen my eyes so I can see better, but that did nothing. I rub my eyes trying to wake myself up. My legs give up and I am now lying on the floor. I try to move but I couldn’t. I use all my might to move my lifeless legs, but nothing is happening. Tears rolled down my face with the thought that I can’t do anything, that I am useless.
I hear someone unlock the door.
“Ali?” Zach calls out. He keeps repeating it until he comes to the bathroom
He picks me up and I look into his sad eyes.
“H-help Zach.” I manage to say.
“Ali what it going on?” he says setting me down on the bed and moving my hair out of my face.
“I-I can’t move.” I say sobbing
He straitens my body and sits me up. He trips over our luggage trying to go to the room phone. I hear him click on the dial pad 3 times. Then I hear a muffled voice.
911 what is your emergency?
“Hi my girlfriend can’t move. S-she has lost all connections to her body. But she can still speak. Can you please come quickly! I don’t know what is going on!” Zach exclaims fast
Please calm down sir…. Right now…. Way…. We will help……okay?
I couldn’t make out all of the words. Next thing you know men and 3 women barge into Zach and I’s small hotel room. They all surround the bed with Zach in the corner with his hand over his mouth and tears welling.
They paramedics put cold metal on me and check for pluses, breathing, or anything sign that I can move. The room fills with code words and conversations to one another. All of them pack up and leave but one stays behind. He talks to Zach in a quiet voice and when he was on his way out, he looked at me and gave me a half smile.
You are okay… he mouths.
Zach runs up to me and explains everything in a happy tone.
“Okay so he said that your body didn’t have enough potassium so your body was weak. And you couldn’t move because you were in shock. The man said that all you have to do is exercise and move your muscles. I have your food so you can get the vitamins you need and stuff.” He walks over to the plate and sits on the bed. He sits me up and feeds me the food then kisses my forehead.
We spent half of our day exercising and making sure I am stable.
“Can you go get me some vitamins please?” I ask stretching my leg out
“Sure.” He says getting up and snatching his wallet and key card. I then again, watch him walk out and see the door close behind him.
It was about 30 minutes and he still hasn’t come back. I get slowly and take baby steps until I reach the door. I take out my phone and text him.
Ali- What store did you go to?
Zach- A mini mart across from the street
Ali- kk
I get my key card and go to the elevator careful so I don’t hurt myself. I make my way out of the sliding doors and spot a store across from me called Walgreens. I walk across the cross walk and look through the window and see Zach with the package in his hand. He was waiting in line. I limp to the entrance until I see someone walk up to him. She taps his shoulder and he turns around with a smile on his face. They talk and talk and talk. Zach then takes out a pen and paper writes something down on it. He hands it to her and they hug. He rubs her back. He only does that to me…
My face was red with fury. I start to run. The adrenaline was building up that I forgot how much pain moving fast was. I ran up to our room and locked the door. I piled up chairs and pillows to block the entrance. I cried in the corner of the room near the window. Tears falling from my face as I watched the sunset.
Knock Knock Knock came from the door. I get up and crawl to the peep hole. It was Zach. I move out everything and open it, not letting him enter. He looks at me. I had wet and crimson red cheeks.
“Are you okay?” he ask taking a step closer to me. I slightly close the door
“No” I say sternly
“Why are you sounding so mad” he asks with a chuckle
“Oh I don’t know? Maybe because I saw you in the mini mart talking to a girl then you give her your number!” I say angrily
“What?! I never gave anyone my number!” He says throwing his hands in the air
“THEN WHAT DID YOU GIVE TO HER THAT WAS ON THE PAPER?!”I scream
“It was a fan! She recognized me and wanted an autograph. I signed the paper and gave it to her.” He exclaimed
“You hugged her so passionately though…” I say sounding sorry
“She is the first fan that recognized me here. I love my fans Ali.” He says widening the door so he could get in.
I opened the door more, looking down at the ground guilty for blaming him. He sets down the vitamins and walks over to me.
“I am sorry I got jealous…” say with my voice muffled because my face was burrowed in his jacket
“It is okay. It just goes to show how much you love me.”
“I feel like the worst girlfriend ever though.” I say looking up at him.
“Our love isn’t perfect Ali. True love is difficult. We will have our ups and downs. And jealousy might get the best of us, but we can make it together because our love is strong.” Zach says rubbing my face.
“You are so good at making me feel better Zachary.” I say smiling
“Well you know! I AM the best boyfriend you could have ever gotten!” He exclaims laughing
