Luna watched as the smoke slowly dissipated, revealing a man with dark robes, grayish silvery hair and a pair of golden eyes. The man somehow, emitted a mischievous aura making other people think that he was someone who should not be played with or he will play with you.
She blinks and watches as his aura suddenly changed from mischievousness to warm and playful when he smiled at his students. She couldn't believe that such a simple smile would immediately changed the cold atmosphere and he kind of looks like a normal teacher. Luna, considering that she was from another world plus the few years spent in this world, what kind of people hasn't she met? She knew this professor was someone who hides something inside his sleeves but she also was unable to sense a hint of darkness so she relaxed.
The man then, changing from serious to joyful, lifts up his arms opening it wide as if welcoming them all for a fresh new start of the school year. She could hear Thynna giggling beside her.
"Thats mister Bates, our professor" Luna, feeling absent-minded, nodded in response.
"Welcome students! I hope that you've enjoyed every last minute of your summer break because this year, is the year that its our school's turn to host the Eve of Heaven Trials!"
The students in the room starts to cheer including Thynna, so she frowned in confusion and turns to poke the white-haired Princess in front of her.
"Thynna, what is the Eve of Heaven Trials?" she blinks rapidly, showing a confused but innocent face. It made Thynna unable to answer. She slightly shakes her head before answering.
"Oh its a kind of competition, different schools compete to. Whoever wins, gets a chance to hold the Heavenly Crystal..."
Thynna's eyes sparkled as she mentioned the Heavenly Crystal and continued to talk. Luna's eyes also widened in surprise, she couldn't hear what her friend was saying. She had read about the Heavenly Crystal. And it is said that whoever had the privilege to touch the Crystal, will be given an inheritance, however if you weren't the chosen one the inheritance wouldn't be fully given to you, though you would probably gain knowledge about your power or increase your ability.
Her thought were interrupted when Thynna suddenly sounded serious but also excited
"Furthermore, no one had ever received the full inheritance from the Heavenly Crystal. So the council, our Maternal grandparents decided to let schools compete for it and whoever are the last remaining strong students will be given a chance to hold the Heavenly Crystal. This time, our school is hosting so the competition will be held here"
Luna nodded getting a hold of the situation and thinks for a moment. No one has ever received the full inheritance. What does that mean? There must be a reason why, or maybe the inheritance is waiting for the person who truly deserves it.
"My little flowers, I expect you to be responsible enough to seriously train. The principal is expecting too much in this section since you are highest among all students here. You will also be competing with the higher students in other schools so do not disappoint. You hold the name of our school." the students slowly quietened down when the proffessor suddenly sounded serious.
The excited sounds from the students became murmurs of mixed excitement and anxiety. But no one could really deny that the principal indeed has high expectations. Every competetions which was held in different schools, their academy would never fail to show an outstanding performance. Although no one really has recieved the full inheritance from the Heavenly Crystal, it was also a way of competing with other students from different schools simply to show off the gap of powers between the schools powerful students. It was merely a show off competition of who was the strongest.
"Well, thats it for today. Half of the school year will be all training, consider it as just a simple training class like what you always do, only this time, the trials will be much harder than the normal ones. For the time being, you can spend the whole day getting to know each other and roam around the academy to get used to the place. We dont want new students to get lost now, do we?" He would chuckle and flip his robe, turning around towards the door as he makes his exit, surprisingly not as grand as his entrance. Luna watched him slowly walk away, taking his time but before he walks out completely, he tilts his head and looks at her giving her a small smile.
"...and welcome to the Academy, Princess Luna"
Luna looked at him in surprise and nodded her head as a small bow to acknowledge him in respect. The proffessor, Mister Bates nodded in satisfaction and made his way out of the classroom. As soon as he disappeared out of their sight, the students began to talk to each other and the others just looked at her in interest. Feeling a bit uncomfortable of the stares, she turns to the white haired princess as she felt the girl poke her cheek. She jumped a bit in surprise and looks at Thynna with a questioning gaze. The girl giggled and shakes her head as she stared at Luna.
"Oh I'm sorry, you're just too cute its hard to believe you're human"
Luna's expression turned sour and black lines appeared above her head. It was both ridiculous and cute because her expression looks so animated which just added to her childish aura. It made her look like an approachable person that she already is. It was hard to determine whether she was mad or pouting.
"Is that a compliment? Cause I might take it differently"
Luna crossed her arms over her chest and pouts. This girl really looks at me like I'm a kid. Though I dont really mind her company, she's good to talk with.
"By the way, Thynna. Where are the other royals? I only managed to meet you and Meice" (Luna)
"Oh other royals choose not to participate the selection games because we dont graduate unless we are ready to rule our own kingdom. While other students normally graduate when they master their abilities and learn to control it. They're probably back in our mini palace" (Thynna)
Luna thought for a moment. Alpheus is a Prince, what if he's also here? But he might also be in other school.
"Do you know Al-... Are we going there as well?"
She couldn't do it. She wanted to know but she was also scared to be disappointed if she finds out that Alpheus wasn't in the same school as she is.
"Well yes, we have the whole day to ourselves"
Thynna held her hand and began to walk out of the classroom while the students there just stared in awe towards the both of them.
Luna released a quiet sigh as she continued to think about Alpheus. Her eyes was wandering to the familiar halls as they walk back to their mini palace but her mind was somewhere else. She misses him but all these years they haven't had contact with each other. She didnt know what happened and she doesn't know when they will meet again. Remembering the first and the last time they were with each other, she couldnt helo but think, maybe she should just give up.
Little did she know......
