"What?"
Jasper's eyes met Colton's, a laugh about to escape his lips.
"You're joking... right?"
Colton glared at him. "No, I'm not, you idiot."
Jasper nodded, but the smirk only made Colton even more mad.
"Why are they so obsessed with each other?! You know what, I don't care."
Jasper grinned. "I don't know, Colt. Seems to me like you do care. A lot. Even Derek caught on to you."
Colton sneered at Jasper. "Shut up. You probably told him."
Jasper widened his eyes in shock. "No I didn't. I never said a word."
Colton scoffed, rolling his eyes in Jasper's direction. "Sure."
Jasper sighed before shaking his head. "Seriously, I didn't."
Colton stood up abruptly, catching Jasper by surprise. "You... don't suppose Derek already told Jack... do you?"
Jasper tapped his chin. "Maybe? Derek isn't exactly the quiet type."
Colton gnawed at his fingernails, anxiety filling his mind. Jasper smiled at his state. He usually acted arrogant, but he seemed more like Lucis at that moment.
"Whatever. I'm going." Jasper nodded as Colton walked out, the grin remaining. Both Jack and Colton liked Lucis, while Jasper and Derek watched the two fight stupidly from the sidelines
Jasper let out a laugh before walking over to his window. He immediatley caught sight of Lucis and rested his chin on his palm. Things were about to get complicated.

A cry erupted from the yard, gaining all the attention of the children playing.
Lucis lifted his head, shocked to hear such wails. He instantly shot up, surprising Jack and Derek, who were conversating with each other.
They watched as Lucis comforted the child, confusing everyone, who didn't truly know him. He winced when he caught sight of the boy's scraped knee.
A woman finally took notice of the child's state, and ran over, carefully helping him to the nurse's office.
Lucis watched, his eyes filled with worry, and his fingers fumbled together.
Jack stood up and tapped his shoulder, gesturing him to sit back with them.
Lucis nodded, but couldn't help but glance back to the small boy. Jack sighed before taking a hold of his wrist, and lead him back to their spot.
"You don't need to worry about them, okay? The adults will take care of it."
Lucis chewed his bottom lip, nodding, though unsure.
Derek's eyes darted between the two. He hated to admit it, but the two were starting to act like a real couple.
Lucis sat back down and Jack followed his actions, a look of content forcing a smile out of Derek.
"You two... sure are perfect for each other."
Jack's eyes widened, his face heating up almost instantly. "W-what're you saying?!"
Derek laughed out loud. He had never teased Jack like this, and seeing his flustered face was too funny. He glanced over at Lucis, wondering what sort of expression he would be wearing.
His eyes widened as Lucis looked equally as shocked. He sat still, processing what Derek had said before becoming beet-red. He looked up at Jack before standing up.
He walked away, and Jack snapped his eyes towards Derek. "Why'd you have to say that?"
Derek stifled a laugh. "It's true."
Jack rolled his eyes, but Derek was intrigued to see a smile tugging on Jack's lips.
They both knew why Lucis reacted like that.
He liked Jack.
Jack watched as Lucis clumsily dodged the children playing to run into the building, but fell multiple times. Jack stood up, approaching him in order to save him from the children.
Derek rolled his eyes. Lucis was too considerate at times. A pushover, even.
Jack held a hand out to Lucis, who stared at it before hesitantly taking it.
He proceeded to lead him away, unaware that Colton was watching, a look of annoyance written on his face.
He wasn't even sure why he liked Lucis. Lucis was quiet, Colton was loud. Lucis followed rules. Colton broke them. Lucis was kind. Colton was rude.
He gritted his teeth, realization hitting him hard.
He liked Lucis, because he was nothing like himself.
Colton stuffed his hands in his pocket before turning around.
He hated the feeling that tugged on his heart. The jealousy when he saw Jack and Lucis together.
He had always hated Jack, forcing himself to play pretend only to manipulate the boy.
It was just like they say.
"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."
But things were different now. Now Lucis was involved, and Colton found a way to truly hurt Jack. It was like killing two birds with one stone. He would steal Lucis from Jack, and make Jack feel as miserable as possible.
Colton felt bitter as he turned around, glaring at a couple of small children who were just passing by.
They ran, their tails tucked between their legs. Colton grinned, satisfied. He liked it when people feared him.
He narrowed his eyes as an idea randomly popped into his head.
He smirked, barely able to contain his laughter as he walked down the halls, confused and afraid bystanders watching.
Jasper, who was carelessly strolling to the yard, caught sight of the unstable Colton and watched. He was full of concern, but the curiosity begging him to let everything play out.
He loved the chaos, after all.

Lucis stared into the mirror as he examined the dark bags under his eyes. He couldn't seem to sleep that night either.
He huddled up onto his bed and glanced at the slip on in bed.
He had originally planned on stay, but when he found out Jack was goimg on the week trip, he felt a strange tug at his heart.
The names of those confirmed to go were writted down, but Lucis could only recognize three.
Jack, Derek, and Colton.
He located a pen and clicked it repeatedly, thinking of what he should do.
He paused before finally circling one choice.
He nibbled on his bottom lip, hoping he was making the right choice.
"Don't go."
"They hate you."
Lucis shook his head, clearing his head and shutting out the voices.
"No, I'll go."
