Keith's pov
I paced in the waiting room of the hospital. I couldn't sit still. It felt like we had been there for hours before I called Lance asking him to meet us at the hospital.
I didn't want to explain over the phone, so I just told him to meet us there and hung up. I paced around until he got there. He rushed over to me when he walked in.
"What happened? What's wrong?"
I threw my arms around him, and buried my face in his chest.
"Lance...I'm so glad you're here. I don't know if I'd be able to get through this without you here."
He rubbed my back. "Keith, you know I'll always be here for you, but you've gotta tell me what happened."
I took a deep breath and removed myself from his embrace. "Adam was in a car crash. Shiro was allowed in a few minutes ago. We're waiting to hear back from him."
"Babe...I'm so sorry." He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me close to him.
It felt nice to have someone I could depend on like him.
"Wait...who's 'we'?" I pulled away slightly, but not enough to leave his embrace.
"My mom's here too. I've...decided to give her a second chance. We talked it out a little before we got the call he was here, and then a little more while in the waiting room."
He bit his lip. He looked worried. I couldn't blame him. After what I had told him and how I reacted when she came back.
"Ok...I just don't want you to get hurt again. I don't think you ever got over her leaving before...I just want you to be ok."
I smiled, and pressed my lips to his. "Thank you Lance. It means a lot to me."
We took a seat and I laid my head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry for asking you to come out to be with me. I know we just saw each other, and you were probably looking forward to the rest of your day, but it was starting to feel like everything was spiralling again, and I feel like I'm on the verge of-"
He chuckled, and pressed a finger softly to my lips. "Keith...honey...it's fine. I didn't have anything else planned for my day. And I will always be here for you. I'm only one call away."
I smiled. "Thanks. I just feel bad for making you feel like you had to come out right away. I was just panicking. I really don't want anything to happen to him. Not only do I not want anything bad to happen to him, but I'm also worried about how Shiro will react if something happens to Adam. He really loves him. I don't want anything to happen to either of them. But...I can't help but think...what if Adam dies?"
Lance shook his head. "That's not going to happen. Adam's going to be fine, I'm sure of it. Do we know the details of the crash?"
"It was a drunk driver. The police caught him after he hit another car. It was a hit and run, with only one witness. Although, the witness ran scared, and is refusing to say anything to the police. We don't know anything about his condition yet. We'll know more when Shiro comes out and tells us."
He nodded and took my hand. He gave me an encouraging smile. I laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.
We had been up most of the night last night. I felt myself start to drift in and out of sleep, until finally I was out.
Lance's pov
I smiled as I noticed Keith's breathing slow. He was asleep. My leg began to bounce slightly.
I really didn't want anything to happen to Adam. Both he and Shiro were so loving, and I couldn't think of anyone better to take care of my boyfriend.
