HAYDENS'S POV
"What was I thinking? Everyone sees it, it's not a secret that I'm just a reject. Sick of the system, don't wanna hear it. It's not a secret that I'm just a reject."
The piercing sound of the alarm jolts me awake from my sweet dream. I moan and the snooze button on my phone, mumble "5 more minutes" and slowly drift back to sleep.
With a quick movement, I suddenly wake up and stare at the clock, with blaring red letters, displaying 7:00am.
"Shit! I'm late!"
I jump out of bed and race around my room.
I apply a quick layer of my medium tone foundation, put a creme-colored eyeshadow on my lid, a dark brown shadow in my crease and a light brown on the outsides of my eye. I applied a thin layer of my favorite liquid eyeliner and made sure to wing it out. I put on a thick layer of Miss Manga mascara and since my cheeks are naturally rosey, I don't have to put on blush. I finish with a pink lipgloss.
I threw on my clothes; a black Melvins t-shirt, a faded green denim cardigan paired with faded black skinnies and shiny red tie-front combat boot heels and ran down the stairs to get breakfast.
My mother greets me with a kiss and tells me I look great.
"Thanks momma."
I completely ignore my step dad and walk over to my 2 year old step brother Jensen, who was sitting at the table, stuffing cheerios in his mouth.
"Hey, Jensen." I coo.
He yells, "HayHay!" as soon as he sees me.
I pick him up and swing him around and placed him on my hip. I kissed his nose and he giggled.
"Whatcha eating?" I ask.
"Cheeweowes."
I laugh at how unbelievably cute he is.
I placed him back down and grabbed myself and Eggo waffle. I got the maple syrup from the cabinet and grabbed my seat by Jensen.
I ate my waffle while Jensen and I made animal noises together.
After I finished eating, I made my way back upstairs and brushed my teeth. I ran back to my room and sat down in front of my dresser, pulling out my curling iron.
I messily curled my hair every other direction. I sprayed my hair with hairspray, careful not to get any in my mouth.
I grabbed my headphones, my phone, my music note backpack ans made my way to the front door.
I grabbed my coffee I made from the kitchen, kissed my yellow lab named GusGus and headed out the door to my car. I started playing my Green Day playlist and pulled out of the driveway.
I arrived at the school with time to spare.
The next song to jam through my car speakers was "We Are The Waiting".
If anybody looked through the windows, they'd be real freaked out. I never care how loud I sing or how many air guitars I used- Green Day fucking rocks!
I was just about to get out of my car, when the next song played and I stopped.
It was "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".
I layed back against the leather seats and closed my eyes. I breathed in fresh air and swayed my head back and forth to the sound of Billie Joe Armstrong's voice.
My hand automatically went to the chain around my neck.
It was the necklace my dad bought me for Christmas when I was 8.
