CHAPTER 12

Black and white pictures of Tavi on Chicago streets hang in the interrogation room. Ash cuffed Tavi on one hand and the other half of the cuffed locked to the table. By this time, Tavi awoke. He realized his Division equipment was missing.

"As you can see," Ash said. "I kinda don't trust you."

"Ok." Tavi replied as his eyes saw the pictures on the wall.

"You're a mystery. And supposedly found a leak about the government."

"Yea."

Ash got closer to Tavi. She put her fingers on his chin and lifted his head. His eyes are gray and cold. "I have a team. I want to keep them safe. That's all."

"I know your team. I saw them in the tournament of champions."

Ash turned her back and put her hands on her hip. "I knew that event was a bad idea."

"I kinda don't trust you either."

"Hmm?" Ash turned back to him.

"I know your team is currently killing 'rogue' agents without remorse. No questions asked."

That comment got to Ash's emotions. "I sent my team to take down terrorists. We're not cold-blooded killers like you."

"Just because someone went rogue does not mean they broke bad."

"They killed clean Division agents."

"What would you do if someone got in the way of your objective?"

Ash pressed her lips in anger. "I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt." She walked out of the interrogation room and slammed the door.

"What did he say?" Jager asked.

"Nothing useful."

Caveira stepped in front of Ash, "I can make him talk."

"Wait." Dokkaebi said. "Ash, you told me to see if I can hack into his ISAAC gear to find out about his status as a Division agent. Well, it turns out that his green watch was tempered with. It's meant to be red."

"He's a rogue."

"Yo, Ash. He's gone." Jager said pointing to the window of the interrogation room.

Ash noticed the door unlatched. She rushed in and found the handcuff unlocked. "Fucking shit."

"Don't worry," Caivera said. "He won't be able to hide from me."
