El was laying on the sofa, stuffing her face with ice cream, questioning why Mike hadn't tried to apologise and make things right. El had a bad feeling, but she pushed the thought away because she knew just she missed Mike. The bad feeling grew for a few days and she ended up caving in, scared that something really bad has happened.
Hopper was working at the Station so El put on her boots and ran to Mikes house.
About 15 minutes later El arrived at the house, to see someone on a stretcher, being loaded into an ambulance. Her heart dropped. Was it? No it couldn't be.
Mike.
El sprinted over to Karen who was crying on Ted by the front door.
"Karen what happened? Is he going to be okay?" El yelled as she approached her.
"He- he" she couldn't even form words before she broke down into tears onto El's shoulder.
El began to cry, she had to know if he was going to be okay.
"Nancy?" El called as Nancy got into her car.
"El." Nancy ran over.
"What happened? Is he okay?" El cried.
"He had a relapse, he cut so deep that he passed out. They think he will be okay, he didn't bleed out for too long, but the faster they get there, the more likely he will be okay." Nancy rambled, out of breath from grabbing items and trying to keep Holly away.
El cried even harder, clutching onto Karen as hard as Karen was clutching onto her.
"Right we are off, come on Mrs Wheeler." One of the drivers called.
"Karen can I come?" El pleaded.
Karen just nodded, she didn't have the heart to say no and she knew she could lean on El in moments of need like this.
Nancy decided to take Holly to The Byers and then pick up Jonathan and Will and bring them to the hospital with her. El made a mental note to ring the station once they arrived.
Karen, Ted and El clambered into the back of the ambulance, they both couldn't take their eyes off of the boy laying in front of them. He looked almost fake, like it wasn't their Mike. They both cried in each other's arms while Ted was talking to one of the paramedics.
The journey to the hospital seemed like the longest journey in the world to El. She found herself bouncing her leg at such a pace, as if it was going to help speed up the vehicle.
Once they finally arrived, they followed the orders of the doctors and nurses. Mike got wheeled into a private room, he was still unconscious.
They were sat outside the room sipping some tea which one of the kind nurses offered to get them. About an hour past before another nurse came out and informed them on the situation.
"Before I say anything I want you to know that he is going to be fine. He suffered from minor blood loss and fainted, nothing unusual from other patients we have seen like this. We are going to keep him in over night and depending on results we will have to keep him in for a few more days. Please be rest assured that he is in good hands and we will take care of him. I'll come back in an hour if there is any more to report." And with a nod, she went back into the room to continue to run tests.
Shortly after the nurse left Jonathan, Nancy and Will arrived. Karen explained the situation while El cried into Wills arms.
"We have to tell Dustin, Lucas and Max." Will whispered to El as she filled up her cup with another round of tea.
"Yes I know, but first I'm going to call my dad. I should've done it earlier but we were waiting for information." El walked away to find a phone.
Wills heart dropped, El looked so sad. He felt awful watching her walk away. Will decided to occupy himself and call the rest of their friends and to inform them on the situation.
