Thank you to Heatwave989 for this idea, I hope it's somewhat how you imagined it :)

The next few weeks went quite quickly, Mike was attending his appointments with El by his side and he was feeling better each time. El couldn't be happier that he was recovering, she loves him so much and just wants him to be happy.

After a while Karen insisted that she went with Mike instead of El, leaving them both disappointed. So instead, every Monday and Friday El went round Max's or Max came to El's. Mike was still unsure about telling everyone so he decided not to.

Today was Thursday, after school Mike biked to the cabin to see El as he usually does. He felt happy, things seemed to be improving. He hummed the Indiana Jones theme as he rode down the quiet streets of downtown Hawkins.

Once he arrived at the cabin he ran up the steps and did the secret knock. There was no answer, so he did it again. No answer. A wave of panic overtook him.

"El? El are you in there?" Mike yelled. He decided to run round and look in all the windows to check if she was there, there was no sign of her. Within an instant Mike jumped back on his bike and rode home so he could grab his super-com.

When he arrived home he flung his bike on the ground and ran up to his room to grab it.

"El? Are you there?"

No answer.

"El? Please answer me." He felt tears prick at his eyes, his mind took him back to all the times he called her in those 353 days and she didn't answer.

He changed the channel to the one he and the rest of the party used so he could get their attention.

"Guys do you copy?"

"Yo Mike I copy, what's up" Lucas answered. Mike was slightly jealous of Lucas, he always sounded so cool.

"I can't find-"

"Hey guys what's going on." Dustin voice appeared, completely cutting Mike off.

"Dustin you idiot. Mike, you were saying?" Lucas snapped.

"Do you guys know where El is?" Mike pressed.

"She's with Max, why?" Lucas sounded concerned.

Mike let out a huge sigh of relief but he was also hit with a wave of sadness. How could she not tell him? Tuesdays and Thursdays were their days. She had been doing this a lot lately, ditching him for Max. He knows that they are friends now and he thinks it's great but he would like to see his girlfriend.

"Oh okay." Mike said quietly as he turned of his super-com. He couldn't help but feel upset, his insecurities taking over. Was she bored of me? Am I annoying her? Does she not love me anymore?

He trudged over to his bed and laid down. The best part of his day was seeing El, he hated going a day without seeing her. He took off his socks and slid into bed, he might as well just go to sleep. Just as he closed his eyes there was a knock at his door.

"Mike?" Nancy called when he didn't go to open the door.

"What" he grumbled from underneath the sheet.
