Music In the Night

I was sitting in my room, looking at the notes that the others gave me. The reason that I was at the Music Festival was because Pentatonix was in desperate need of performers. Our low guy was too high for the part and... we lost our alto. Eshe is great and all... but she's our background. We needed a female voice. I glanced over all of the notes. The group was leaning towards Crys Kick Drum as the alto. As in... everyone. Everyone agreed that Crys Kick Drum was their best bet. The group was also pointing at someone from The Lake Takeover. They didn't know which one though. I sighed as I went to look for one of the groups.

I found Sapphire and Ruby with ease. They were bickering while practicing and making something.

"Hello, dynamic duo of world destruction. Can we talk?" The duo turned to me. I was about to ask them to turn off the music when it disappeared and silence filled the air. I looked over and saw Emerald with a laptop. A speaker was next to him. He was talking on his headset. How he knew what I wanted was beyond me. He glanced up and waved before going back to his work. I went over to the duo while watching him.

"Is he scary enough for you?" Sapphire grumbled before taking a drink of her water.

"Yeah... how'd he..." The other two shrugged. "Ok then... Sapphire, I was wondering, since I didn't get a good look at the book of IDs... do you know who this one is?" She glanced at the name. "I just know that she is in New Kids Pop Central." She laughed.

"That's Crystal." I paused.

"Crystal? Like... the one that can kick someone into outer space?"

"Yep. That's why she's called Crys Kick Drum." I sighed before looking at the duo.

"Another thing... Do either of you know who the boys of The Lake Takeover are?" Ruby cursed kinda loudly before grabbing his mouth, his eyes widened and were zipping around. Emerald had gone quiet. The area was silent. I glanced at him while he spoke.

"Please don't tell her that I said that."

"She's gonna know anyways."

"Correction... don't tell me she's behind me."

"You'll be good for the next... hour."

"Ok....." He took a deep breath before speaking again. "I'm one of them." I blinked.

"I go to one group and I find what I need to know. Can you give this to the other guy? It's technically for both of you." Ruby nodded.

"Will do."

3rd person POV... with The Lake Takeover...

The trio stood there as they looked at the note.

"Our blending probably threw them off..." Platinum murmured.

"Or our quiet voices." Ruby whispered.

"Gold gave this to you?" Silver shifted uncomfortably as he looked at Ruby.

"Yeah..."

"How do we do this? He's asking for solos...."

"Simple. We perform the solos... but we don't talk in regular voices. Our voices are different from our singing."

"Perfect. Let's get to practicing."

Silver peaked out at the crowd. Pentatonix was in the front. The group had talked to Crystal. She was also performing.
