1:A and B die but one goes to heaven and the other goes to hell(the reason you can come up with, secretly Murdered someone, stole, etc) so they get separated.
2: A is a angel and B just died. A is sent over to watch them (maybe they did some bad stuff so A is like a therapist idk) and they eventually warm up to each other
3: A is again is an angel and B is a demon
Very classic story line wanting to be friend or becoming a angel/demon for the other but yeah :D
