Your characters are in a Lab
They are either experiments or scientist!
You can make it angsty by making your characters get tested on, or they might not know what's happening and think everything is normal even though they get abused
Maybe they get rescued from gen lab to live a normal life? Or maybe the world is in disaster and that's why they're there
You can do a scientist x experiment thing ;3; sounds fun?
