"Kota, wait up!" A familiar voice rang out through the night life that was Santa Carla's boardwalk.

"Hey, Mike," I plainly greeted him once he caught up to me.

"You sound upset. Where's Alan?" He asked. I let out a frustrated sigh.

"He blew off our date to hang out with your brother and Edgar." I informed him, staring off into the distance with a cold look on my face.

"Again? Isn't this the second time he's done this to you?" Michael said in disbelief.

"Third." I corrected him.

"I don't get it, why are you still with that goon?" He asked.

"I.. I just worry that I'll never be able to find someone else who will love me, ya know?" I admitted, now refusing to make eye contact with him. Michael stopped and abruptly put his hands on my shoulders, making me face him.

"You deserve someone better Dakota. I guarantee there is someone who would give you the stars in the sky if they could." My breath hitched in my throat as I stared into his intense blue eyes.

"Who, Mike?! I appreciate the kindness, but maybe I'm just meant to be alone." I turned to walk away, but he grabbed my hands.

"I like you Kota. I have for a while. But you're dating Alan so I never said anything. It drives me mad to see the way he neglects you! Break up with him. Do yourself a favor, you're better off without him." Michael's eyes shone with pure passion. I knew he was right.

"Alright. I'll break up with Alan. But first, I must do this." I cupped his cheeks and pulled him in for a rough kiss. He was taken aback at first, but quickly responded. We pulled away, smiling at each other as we caught our breaths.

"Come on, let's go find that twerp." Michael put an arm around me, as we started the search for my soon to be ex boyfriend.
