I smile as I open the door to them, but it's a fake smile.
"Hey Lil," Lexi says engulfing me in a hug.
I wince as she uses my nickname. Jacob chuckles behind me and I elbow him in the stomach. He sounds winded. She pulls away and then Max leans in to hug me.
"Hey Max," I say hugging him back.
He pulls away and puts his hand around Lexi's waist. Jacob does the same to me.
"Come in," Jacob says pulling me and him away from the door.
They step through and head to the living room. My brow crinkles but Jacob just smiles. Lexi takes a seat in the middle of the couch.
"Come sit next to me Lil," she says and I tense up.
"Lily could you go get the popcorn?" Jacob kisses my cheek.
I relax.
"Thanks," I whisper before going into the kitchen.
I put my hands on the counter and bow my head ,I breathe in deeply.
"You okay?" Max says coming up behind me.
"Yeah, yeah," I say quickly straightening up. "Just tired. You want a drink?"
"I know where the fridge is Lil, you don't have to be all hosty when I come," he says smiling.
"Get your own drink then and get me one too."
He nods going into the fridge.
"You guys want something to drink?" He shouts.
He is answered with a "Yes" and a "Sure". He takes four cokes out of the fridge and places them on the counter.
"You sure you're alright?" He asks watching me pour the popcorn into a bowl.
"Yeah, fine," I answer going into the living room and sitting down in the corner of the sofa next to Jacob.
He kisses my shoulder.
"You okay?" He whispers.
I nod uneasily and he kisses my shoulder again before returning to his conversation.
"You two are so cute together," Lexi comments.
I can't help but roll my eyes but Jacob thanks her.
"You own me three dates," he whispers resting his head against mine.
"Whenever you're ready to cash in is fine with me," I whisper kissing him.
