Chapter 11 - New Normal?

Lana was taking up a majority of the bed, as usual. I didn't mind though. Her comfort throughout this entire pregnancy is the most important thing for me. I sat up on the edge of the bed and raked my fingers through my hair. There were a few things that I could get done around the house. So I decided to go ahead and start on them while Lana rested. I stood up to go to the bathroom to take a shower. As I entered the bathroom I glanced back at Lana on the bed. I couldn't help but to smile. That woman is what keeps me going. She is my everything. And now, now she's going to make me a father. 

I took my shower and got dressed. Before heading into the living room I pulled the comforter up to cover Lana completely. She was sleeping so peacefully. I walked into the living room afterwards and started re-arranging the furniture. I wanted the house to be set up so she could move around easily. Her expanding stomach would probably make it a little more difficult for her to move around, so I didn't want anything in her way. I positioned the couch so that it would be right at the entrance of the hallway to our bedroom. I didn't want her to have to move around too much either. 

It was my job to make sure that nothing complicated this pregnancy any more than it already was. She was already carrying a magical child. It doesn't get much more complicated than that. But I didn't want anything else to be difficult for her. As I finished up the living room I started get an uneasy feeling. I was getting a feeling like, like I sensed another Atlantean was near. Before I could grab my trident I heard Lana scream from the bedroom. "Arthurrr!!!" I ran back to the bedroom and opened the door. My eyes opened wide as Lana floated above the bed, while her stomach glowed a bright blue. "Arthur?" I quickly ran up to her and grabbed her, lowering her down to the bed. "What happened?" She shook her head, "I don't know. I was asleep and then all of a sudden I woke up and I was in the air." We both looked down at her stomach as the blue glow began to fade. She looked up into my eyes, "Do you think, the baby, uh?" "I, I don't know. It's possible." 

She sighed and placed her hands on both sides of her stomach. "Look little one. We're going to have to learn some control." I smiled and laughed a little at her statement. She looked back at me and caught me staring at her. "What?" I shook my head. "You're amazing, you know that?" She smiled. Then she frowned a little, "Where were you?" "I was taking care of some chores. Moving some of the furniture around." "Why didn't you wake me? I could have helped." I shook my head and placed my hand on her stomach. "No, I want you to take it as easy as possible. We don't know what to expect. And I want to make sure that you AND the baby are okay at all times." 

She nodded and bit her lip slightly. "I love you Arthur." "I love you too Lana." "I should get up and get dressed." I nodded. "Okay, while you get dressed I'll get started on breakfast." Her face lit up. "Can you make those sausage balls that I like?" I nodded, "Of course. Anything else?" She thought about it for a minute. Then her hand shot to her mouth. "Oh no, what's wrong? Are you feeling nauseous?" Her face scrunched up for a moment and then she uncovered her mouth. Once she did she burped and a bubble popped out of her mouth. I watched it float up towards the ceiling and then pop once it hit the ceiling fan. I laughed and then looked down at Lana. She looked worried. "Arthur? Is this our new normal?" I took her hands into mine. "For now, it looks like it is. Give me a few days. I'll try to contact someone from Atlantis to come up and give us some insight on this pregnancy. Although, they may not have much information on it since I was the first half-atlantean to exist."
