Ladies and tricks must have a common origin. Unlike in the situations of anger, a lady will always have a way of introducing an issue and dude no matter how hard you'll dodge all will be in vain. Brenda had her eyes on Alex waiting for an answer which Alex was kind of confident but again who might have guessed exactly what she wanted.

“Will you reply already?” Brenda startled Alex from his confusion.

“Sure... Sure I'm all ears ask.” Alex said.

“You sound confused. What's wrong?” Brenda asked holding Alex's left hand.

“I'm just nervous about whatever your question might be.” Alex said. “I am not used to such situations.” he added.

“Is it that your mom wants you and June to hook up or what is it with them?” Brenda asked.

His guess was right, Brenda was hurt by the way Alex's mother tried to force him to drive June to the dispensary.

“That's up to them since I don't think I care about anything. I have you that's all.” Alex said.

“I just thought it's weird since I heard your mother say she is your cousin.”

“Like I told you earlier, this family has secrets you don't wish to know. ” Alex said in finality but that didn't seem like an enough reason for Brenda to let go of her questions.

Anyone in their right mind could clearly see the reason as to why Brenda was insecure. Her mother was just a worker who happened to have worked in the family for the longest time. It's possible to say she was part of the family because of the secrets she knew about the family but with money that would not even be a reason. Brenda was sure she could not win against June despite all the stupid promises Alex was trying to give her.

“This may sound crazy but from that time at the airport, I could not control myself towards you. If there is something like love at first sight then I will believe in it for the first time. I can't stop thinking about you when I am alone and since I know I am shy and it's hard for me to speak out my feelings let me just tell you what I feel before I can't face you. Alex I am in love with you and I don't care whether it's infatuations or love but I trust the feeling I have towards you is true.”
Brenda talked until she didn't realize Alex had pulled over by the roadside and stared at her talk. She had turned emotional and she couldn't hide her insecurities. It's not always common for a lady to confess what they feel about someone. The society is set in that a man must be the one to even propose to a woman and a lot more so such a case is always unique and it would be stupid taking it for granted.

“I understand your fears Brenda and I feel the same towards you despite the short time we have been together. I know what my family is capable of and no matter where you go, I will be right behind following you till the end.” Alex said.

Brenda leaned forward meeting Alex's lips and in a few seconds they were both breathing heavily rushing their hands over each others' bodies.

“I can't imagine how your life would be with that cousin of yours. She looks like a piece of work. ” Brenda said.

“That to Vanessa cannot be a problem, it would even be an achievement.”

Alex started the car again and drove off. Brenda took Alex's phone and started scrolling through his gallery.

Personally, I would not advocate that type of transparency even if it's all about love. Sometimes we get lost along the way and get a bit physical and naughty with other parties and for heaven's sake by default we cannot explain.

“Can I take you out on a dance tonight? ” Alex asked.
As far as Brenda was concerned, she was ready for a heist leave alone a dance. She just nodded and buried her head again to Alex's phone.

“Provided I will be dancing with you just count me in.” Brenda said.

“Who else do you expect me to dance with? Maybe a welcoming stranger. ”

“May that stranger be warned against trespassing because I will literally dislocate her nose. ” Brenda said jokingly grinning from ear to ear.

“Will I be at the crime scene?”

“You will have to be an eye witness and act as an example to anyone else who might be having unexecuted plans of the same nature and intensity. ” Brenda said.

They ended up laughing so hard after the exchange since it was just fun and that reminded Brenda of Victor, Her aunt's son who she grew up with. Alex made her feel satisfied and secure the same way she felt with Victor.

They finally got to town and shopping together was fun especially when it came to Brenda buying pants.

“You want to follow me while I buy ladies stuff? ” Brenda asked.

“I must make sure you choose the right colours. You can't buy any inner clothe with scary colours.”

“Damn it Alex! Don't you know we ladies have some favourite clothes which does not have our favourite colours?” Brenda asked but she gave in anyway and they did all her shopping as Alex helped her carry the shopping baskets. Isn't that what gentlemen do? I don't know anyway.

Later they both went for a meal and it would be an understatement saying it was fun being together, they both wished the moment would last forever although Brenda was afraid. There is a certain kind of fear that haunts someone when they have something they hold dear. After the meal they made to their car and Alex opened the passenger's door for Brenda. She stood staring right at Alex's eyes then wrapped her arms around Alex's shoulders.

“Thank you for everything.” she said.

“You don't have to thank me. It was fun being together.”

“That means too much to me. Choosing me over your cousin and all what you have done. I love you Alex.” Brenda said.

That sent shocks to Alex's spine and literally gave him goosies. He wanted to be the first to bring such a moment but Brenda did it. Alex immediately planted a kiss on Brenda's lips which she responded by kissing him even harder.

“I love you Brenda.” Alex said after composing himself. The kiss was just meant to release the tension, such an intelligent move for Alex.

They drove home after the heart to heart talk and a lot of confessions.

Immediately after arriving home, June could not help but notice Alex helping Brenda carry her shopping bags. That definitely shoved the truth up her head the two already had the wheel rolling. She waited until Alex was in his room and sneak in. She was lucky to have that absolute freedom to be in anyone's room, that's what cousins do, isn't it?

“Is it that I am ugly or what makes her better than me?” June asked as she closed the door behind her.

“Come on Cuz. Get over yourself and your jealousy and see the bigger picture. We are cousins, aren't we? ” Alex asked.

“But I love you Alex can't you even see it? Fuck curses or whatever. I don't care. This is not about aunt Vanessa, you're the reason I left South Africa. Why can't you even realize it, why choose her over me? ”

“This has nothing to do with you. We're going on a dance tonight, go get ready. We are leaving in forty.” Alex said.

“I need an answer before everything else.”

“Make yourself comfortable and wait for the answer. Hope eternity won’t hurt too much. You have a chance to choose your ego or getting ready and joining us for a dance like I said. ” Alex said and grabbed his towel and made to the bathroom. That was enough to tell her there was a chance she could forever wait for the answer she needed.

She made to her room still wondering whether to take the chance of follow her ego like Alex had told her. She realized Ian was getting ready too and that was also enough to tell her she could enjoy Vanessa's company as the others were having fun. She also hurriedly took a shower and wore a dress, then made to Alex's room.

“I'm done.” she said.

“You look beautiful. Now shall we?” Alex asked showing her out and Ian joined them on their way to the door.

“We'll use the other car and you're driving.” Ian said.

“You win but drinks on you.” Alex replied.

Brenda too was ready and joined the three. She wore a red dress just above her knees and ankle matching boots. Alex could not get his eyes away from her. June too could see Brenda was beautiful and irresistible so were it not for her ego she could have just let go and hook up with Ian instead.

“You look amazing.” Alex said.

“I appreciate.” she said making her way to the car.

“Hi.” She said referring to June.

“You really look beautiful Brenda. I love the dress. ” June finally said after trying to fight back the hatred she had for her. In that situation she could not do anything stupid to avoid ruining her better chances with Alex.

Brenda took the front seat while June and Ian took the rear seat. Ian introduced a common topic and they all ended up giving their views and even laughing at the jokes either of them made. June literally could see Brenda and Alex were not faking anything although she was ready to ruin and burn the shitty connection to the ground as she called it.

They parked at Paradise Bar and restaurant which happened to be one their father's establishments. The DJ happened to be playing one of davido's song followed by Louis Fonsi's song despacito which set the whole bar on fire and everyone was looking for a dancing partner. Brenda had her arm around Alex's waist and Ian has his on June.

Brenda could hardly control her urge to dance with Alex so was June. After a few seconds of dancing Alex excused himself to get drinks. Brenda was dancing alone for a while since Ian and June had drawn further from them.

“Hey I'm Davis. And you're? ” a tall, light skinned guy asked making her way behind Brenda.

“I am leaving.” she said moving away from him.

“Fuck you! You are just an ugly piece of shit!” He said holding a bottle of Heineken. Brenda walked further from him. “You bitches should get over your pride, I will still have a whore to take home. I'd rather jerk myself off that have you for a nightstand.” He continued.

“What did you just say?” Ian intervened. He had been watching the drama and it would not be his signature move letting a man walk away after insulting his brother's girlfriend. Especially a light skinned guy, Ian detested them.

“She's your whore dude? You'd rather jerk off to a magazine. She's a bitch, you heard me?” He said patting Ian's back. He clenched his fists and June tried to calm him down.

Ian pushed her hard until she tripped over falling to a table. He gave the guy several blows before Alex was back and Brenda was rushing towards June whose make up was almost being worked on by some ladies.

“What's up bro? ” Alex asked.

“How can this moron insult Brenda?” Ian said.

Alex didn't even need any explanation about whatever happened, all he did care was it happen to Brenda.

“Diabolical son of a motherfu**er!” Alex shouted spearing him to the floor.

On the other side Brenda and June were running after the ladies who happened to alter June's amazing hairstyle.

“You can run but you can't hide.” June said throwing stones after the ladies who were not too far from them.

“June, let's run to the car.” Brenda called.

“You already have a stone, this is tarmac and I can't see any more stones.” June said still running.

“Damn it June! I am holding a packet of Tictac run to the car. ” Brenda said.
